Not really! The Bay needs Sac and the Valley but it also need L.A.. Shit we need New York. If this movement is really a movement we need national support. Think about why the south became big, not because their fans were buying their records, they always bought their artists records. The South became big because everyone else in the country started buying their records. The Bay/L.A. shit don't exist among the artist. IF any rappers from L.A. really did have a "fuck the Bay" attitude back in the day, y'all need to let it go. L.A. is showin major support to the hyphy movement, and regardless of what y'all wanna believe, L.A. consumers and radio have always played and loved Bay music.

i dont know what u mean when u say "seperating themselves from california"...i guess u mean from L.A because i dont know of any rappers in Eureka that are a factor or in Palm Springs for that matter...And the u reason u might hear a cat from L.A say Westcoast more then a Bay Cat is because to the rest of the world "WestCoast Rap" is considered to them as Gangsta or Hardcore and thats what L.A has always been about... from NWA to the New And Improved Snoop of 2006 cuz he still talks bout crips and gang bangin...so that lifestyle is never gonna change and ur always gonna hear it in their music.As far as the Bay Area...We have went from Rap that was influenced by funk music in the 1980's to Mobb Muzik in the 1990's to The Hyphy movement in 2006.
