the hyphy movement is gonna kill innovation and originality.. the bay was better known for its diversity but now if an artist from out here aspires to make it big they're gonna hop the bandwagon which is a shame.. its time now for the rest of the bay to be exposed but dont hold your breath for that.. not until people realize that the hyphy movement was successful because suburban high nosed well-to do kids found something that originated from the street but is still a non-violent way of being "cool" by being laughed at..
I think a few club songs thrown on a cd arent a bad idea, but when your main focus is on the club and pullin bitches throughout your entire cd then more power to you for appealing to what sells and getting yours... but dont deny that by doing that your watering down your own product otherwise you would be lying to yourself.. foolz clowned N'sync and the backstreet boys for singing to and for the ladies but not rappers from the yay.. theyre "hyphy" LOL do u see the double standard?? I thought the teams last album was more of an RnB album but thats jus my opinion.. i dont consider hyphy a "bay thing" but more of an "oakland" thing.. and only folx from the bay can recognize that distinction..
The hyphy movement does a good job of representing the cities that the originators are from, but until a trend/word/phrase and or movement comes along that represents the bay as a whole.. im gonna continue to do my own thing and not play into a movement that cant recognize homeboys and respect the bay for what it iz
