I kinda agree with you hear. I think bay area music is just as good as its ever been right now. In the last 2 years Ive probly picked up 25 good bay cds that I still bump.
For the negative side, I see a lot of rappers who I think have talent like PSD, Mob Figaz, Mr. Kee and others who are spittin the rap but arent gettin proper beats. Thats the only thing Im not feelin about the bay right now.
Every market in the United States is saturated. I mean, how many rap artists do you even see on MTV 5? 7? But the radio needs to help create the market. Then bay area rappers need to do shows in the bay a lot more often. We need hip hop clubs too.

That right there makes you no better than the people you were just commenting on. Why is it okay to burn their albums but not yours? I guess as long as it's not happening to you it's okay? I can't speak for everyone else but I support TIGHT shit. BUT I burn albums and give them a few listens before I decide wether or not to buy them. E-40s new album I burned when it popped up a few weeks before it came out. I liked it so once it came out I bought it. I have a burned copy of the new Scarface, when it comes out I'm buying it. I will continue to do that because there are very few artists who I would buy just based on the name. If any artist has a problem with me doing that, then I will quit burning their albums. I will also quit buying them. If any artist/label has a problem with me listening to an album before I make my decision to buy it or not then fucc 'em they aren't getting my money any more. We always hear rappers/labels talk about how burning albums is "stealing" from them. Well putting out an album full of recycled tracks, shitty guests on every song, 10 shitty skits and half assed songs is stealing from us. Nobody seems to give a fucc about the consumers anymore.

I feel you dawg!!! It is the fanz and the artist to me. The fanz support anything that's not Bay Area and that's fucced up!!! Catz will never get radio play if they don't have the fanz supporting them, by requesting their shit on the radio. Then the artist, they don't do radio songs half the time. And if they do, they don't get them to the dj's who will play they shit. KMEL won't without fanz support. The Bay is lucky. How many radio stations we have out here? We got a couple of commercial stations and over 10 college and non profit stations out here like KPOO in Frisco, KUSF, KALX and more. Get at these folks first and follow up with yo shit. If you are about yo bizz you gotta follow up, period. Create yo buzz with the smaller stations and KMEL will come callin. They listen to my show all the time to see what's crackin. But without fanz support, none of this shit will work!!!
