Glory

Glory is a 1989 American drama war film based on the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry as told from the point of view of its commanding officer, Robert Gould Shaw during the American Civil War. The 54th was one of the first formal units of the U.S. Army to be made up entirely of African-American men (apart from the officers).

not a bad film 7/10 enjoyable.

A Serious Man. Directed by the Coen brothers.

I watched the trailer and thought the trailer was awesome. The movie however wasn't nearly as good as the trailer. Ehh, the Cohen brothers...so much talent, I don't know what happened. It's like they have great ideas in their heads, but recently it's just not getting across in their movies.

This film is decent enough to where it's almost interesting, but again huge let downs, especially the ending. I think this movie was made specifically for Jews, that is to say, if you grew up in a Jewish family and culture you might appreciate this film a little bit more.

My advice is if you're not a fan of the Cohen brothers stay far away from this movie, you'll hate it. If you're a big fan of their movies, sure, knock yourself out, you might enjoy it.

Saw this movie couple days ago, not bad, not great, Its about this time capsule made by these elementary school kids in 1959 to make pictures for kids in the present 2009, only there is this disturbed girl that hears whispering shit and they are telling her to write a whole bunch of numbers instead of a pic.

Before they bury the time capsule. Bitch is writing dates of catastrophes starting from 59 and present. In the present day they open up the capsule Cage's kid grabs the envelope with weird numbers on it.

It kept me interested throughout the movie because I wanted to know who the fuck was whispering and what catastrophes was gonna hit. Nicolas Cage did a good job but the weird shit was these fucking dudes in dark suits kept coming around Cage's house and he didn't really give a shit acting like the shit is normal but it looks like he lives in the middle of nowhere and should. It kept me entertained id recommend it specially if you like "end of the world" type of movies.

It was really good.
Not your typical vampire movie by any means, but a great movie none the less.
The main (and basically only) vampire character is a little girl.

If you're looking for all out shocking gore then this isn't for you (there is still plenty of blood/death though, I mean it is a vampire movie).

that shit was whack.. wish i read your review first.. or even the review they got on imdb right now..

"It helps to be familiar with the paradox of Schrodinger's cat, a staple of quantum physics, which can be found on Wikipedia, before you go see this film. You might also want to understand the quantum concept of duality."

"But the movie is universal in its appeal, if you understand the basic concept of quantum mechanics upon which the film is based."

Van Diemen's Land
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1361843/

A movie set in Australia in 1822. A group of prisoners escape their labor camp only to find the Australian land worse than the prison.

I wanted this to be good. I like stories like this, and I like the time this movie takes place in. Unfortunately I was mostly bored. The director seemed like he was trying too hard to make "art" instead of an entertaining movie.

Plenty of long drawn out shots of trees. Odd old slow folk type music. Strange narration that makes little to no sense. And a good story that seems to have gotten in the way of a director's vision.

It wasn't all bad. The production quality was great. The actors seemed believable. And the story is pretty gnarly. I just wish someone else had made this movie.

I dunno, I just didn't really get into it. Or maybe my expectations were too high. Anyways I'd give it a 6.2 out of 10.

I'm watching Schindler's List right now. I didn't know too much about the movie beforehand but I didn't expect it to be this graphically violent. But it's great. I like how it's shot in black and white. That Goeth guy is a crazy muthafucker, sniping Jews if they're not working hard enough. Schindler is the polar opposite - using all of his money in order to save "his" Jews from certain death even though he's a member of the Nazi party. Great movie, I don't know why I haven't watched it before.
