Don't make me teach you about History Books and how they are based on liberal ideals. If History books weren't so one sided, I would pay attention to them. Why don't you listen to people, especially minorities, when they say the facts of our history have been distorted. Did you pay attention in school? Did you believe 100% of the shit they taught in History or did you only believe half of it. If you believed everything they taught you, you're a damn fool...schools, especially public, are KNOWN to be full of shit...the teachers are left wingers, the books are liberal, get a clue man. OF COURSE the books are going to say that liberal ways are what keeps this country going.
Liberal? I agree that the books I was taught out of at an early age were shit, but I don't know about that kind of slant to them...You want some knowledge? Go peep "Peoples History of the United States."

How did this get so off topic?

@Tadou--i can agree w/ sydal that when you arent doing your job as a ultra conservative you bring good points--jay and shep trivialized the thread w/ shit talkin--but whats your thoughts on the article? The liberals thread seemed more of an unintelligent tripe born from right wing fallacies and stereotypes than of psychologically motivated mechanisms used to structure ones environment--so does this article ring true?
This article is nothing more than a regurgitation and intellectualization of a few of the points, in a guided survey, the results of which were pre-determined before the test subjects were ever selected.

I think you made tadou's weak attempt at a diss into a deep, I love my work statement. He didn't say he cared about how many fans he said, he was just tryin to say he has 27 more fans than me. (Which sounds about accurate including family members who would make a pity purchase of his garbage.)
If only I, like you, knew of/had 27 family members, friend.

And Jay, you really are a chicken shit if you would diss my music, but have none of your own. You really have no idea what this music shit that is being done is about. Its not about sending your demo into Universal and Sony, and getting signed for 1.5 million.....its simply about making music, and doing a show here and there. Its that simple.

Ouch. That's a pretty ominous prospect right there. Where do you get your history from, Michael Savage?

schools, especially public, are KNOWN to be full of shit...the teachers are left wingers, the books are liberal, get a clue man. OF COURSE the books are going to say that liberal ways are what keeps this country going.
I agree that much of what they teach you in school is bullshit. I came out of high school very conservative, in response to much of the extremism of my teachers. On the other hand, though, discounting everything taught based on some sort of sweeping generalization about politicized learning is a fallacious prospect.

Though I now identify more "left" than "right", (if you must apply retarded spy vs. spy labels) I do not instantly discount information or sources presented to me. This type of "oh its the liberal media", "its liberal learning" hysteria on both sides is responsible for much of the misinformation of our people both on the left and right.

Though I wouldn't be remiss in saying I see more intelligent, non-trivialized debate coming from non-Republican sources, I do not instantly discount all Republicans as flag-waving mongoloids and blind jingoists. You would do well to learn the same principle, if only from the opposite side.

I have had zero qualms with the books selected thus far. As a 14 or 16 year old, you have no business learning about some crackpot's theory about the Civil War or "Jefferson was a slave rapist, and all these other crazy things.

School does exactly what it is meant to do: give you the BASIS for BUILDING an education; not GIVE YOU your education.

The books are not the problem and the teachers are not a problem. The problem is the people who walk out of class thinking they know the whole story, left OR right, republican OR democrat...hell, political OR apolitical.

Yes they have been distorted, but the fact remains that liberals have kept the governments in check throught out time and helped them grow up, not conservatives. want proof? most revolutions were started by misrepresented populations of liberals.... plain and simple.

The classical definition of "Liberal" versus "Conservative", is that organizations described as "left" are most often in favor of change to society. Organizations described as "right" are defined as hardline and supportive of the status quo, and what are considered traditional values of the society.

It is very possible for one to be a "right wing communist".

Classical and Permanent. If you have done any studies on world politics in things like "history books", or have ever watched coverage of "worldwide politics", parties are usually described as "left-wing", "moderate", and "right-wing". The definitions though the years have not changed.
