I think yall looking in the wrong direction. If any artist/single gonna blow from the bay in 06 its def gon be the Grown Man joint, it got everything for that primetime shine, it blends perfect in the mix wit all the Lil Jon joints being spun in VA, DC, FL, ATL, etc (dont underestimate the DJ). I travel get around alot, black folk out a state aint gonna feel the Go Dumb thing, face reality. I was staying in VA when Loyalty & Betrayal dropped and it WAS being bumped....but the peak got passed. If anything the brothas in the South gonna pick up some terms and put their own twist on it for some shine. But like my folks in LA say (str8 fam right there nothing but bay love ignore them Clowns from Compton on Myspace), the Bay is another planet...

SO. If I worked for a major I would pick this shit up quick and put a gang of bread behind the Hoodstarz, believe it. :beard:

^^ The way I see it, E-40 may have blown on a Bay Area level, but not on a nationwide level. Yes, he's been featured in magazines, and had his video played on BET once or twice, but thats nothing compared to the likes of Nelly, Ying Yang Twinz, LiL Jon, Mike Jones, Ludacris, TI, 50Cent, etc... No one from the Bay Area except from Pac, has ever been on that level. Even in the mid ninety's, a couple of Bay Area artists had a few hot videos and songs that were getting rotation, but lets admit it, Death Row was running shit and no one else was even close.
DOES THE NAME MC HAMMER RING A BELL? LOVE HIM OR HATE HIM, HE REPRESENTED THE BAY IN A MAJOR WAY.

maybe its just none of us Bay fans know what good music is... i mean look at it like this.. how much garbage blows up? lots of it, so many songs that i hate and im sure many of you do too, then we got all these tight ass Bay tracks that get no love.. maybe the rest of the country is just musically challenged and lets MTV decide whats cool

It ain't gonna blow, its not a hot song at all not trying to hate or nothin but that cut don't do nothin for me.

I think the bay needs to work on establishing a fanbase in their own backyard before trying to go nationwide again. I mean Bay artists aren't even pushing mad units in the bay itself so how the hell are they gonna think their shit is gonna get play in NYC, ATL, Chicago etc? All these Houston rappers who blew up in the past few years were selling major units independantly in Texas where in the bay even the hottest of the hot sell 10-20k at the very most. When Bay cats can sell 100K in their own backyard, thats when its time to go nationwide

wat chu mean u think tha bay aint got a fan base in tha bay? can you go anywhere in tha bay wid out hearing someone say some shit they heard offa a rap song from a bay artist can u go anywhere in tha bay wid out seeing everyone wearing white teez stunnaz grillz only because theyre favorite bay rappers talk about it, i see wat you saying about pushin units but it's probably harder to push units in tha bay cause of all tha burned cd's n downloading but i definitely think tha bay has established its fanbase here in nor cal

Sure we got fans but not enough people are buying albums. People blame downloading but downloading didn't stop cats like Lil Flip and Chamillionare from selling 100K without a deal in Houston. Mac Dre was the King Of the Bay and his last album only sold 24 thousand copies, Jackas album in my opinion is a damn masterpiece but I heard it sold something like 16,000 copies. Bay Area Rap fans need to start supporting their favorite local artists or they are gonna be local forever.
