You're on point too bro, my thoughts exactly.. Hopefully the Bay's movement will hit as hard as Houston's.
it can be, we definitley have the talent....but it wont until we all start supporting the artists and actually buy thier cds. houston supports there own. the majors are fuckin with them because even if they flop they will at least still sell on a regional level, which is still very high...and thats what labels want. labels dont wanna develop artists anymore, theres no time, and we all no time is money.

^^ The way I see it, E-40 may have blown on a Bay Area level, but not on a nationwide level. Yes, he's been featured in magazines, and had his video played on BET once or twice, but thats nothing compared to the likes of Nelly, Ying Yang Twinz, LiL Jon, Mike Jones, Ludacris, TI, 50Cent, etc... No one from the Bay Area except from Pac, has ever been on that level. Even in the mid ninety's, a couple of Bay Area artists had a few hot videos and songs that were getting rotation, but lets admit it, Death Row was running shit and no one else was even close.

i think e-40 has blown on the national level..this can be seen by his numerous appearances....ive seen forty is a couple movies.....i beleive he made a little cameo on soul plane and a couple other joints..ahhaha..and saw him on a episode of the jamie foxx show the other night (old episodes on BET late night)..that episode was hella funny cuz he was talking all this slang...to me, it seems like e-40 is know nationally...thats why he is known as the ambassordor of the bay

in 95-96 deathrow was runnin shit, yes.
but in 95 e-40 was runnin shit as well..
i remember back in 95 when the source had the year review e-40 was mentioned...
all dem artists that you mentioned i bet the majority have been influneced by e-40 in some way...
its a different age now..back in 95-96 payola wasn't as rampant as it is now...
if lil jon truly believes in 40 and will be all his money into puttin him on the video and radio, he will blow up once gaian..

more on the subject

wattup, what about the song with e-40 and fabolous? automatic systemitic or some shit i forget the name but that shit was a slapper, it was also a very "bayish" type of beat and fabolous a mc from brooklyn was able to spit fire to it. The video for it was also tite as fuck, is there something im missing from here? I remmeber hearing that shit on the radio thinking to myself how fuckin sick that song was. If anything that one should have been the one to blow the bay up, but shit like "mustard and mayonnaise" sounds too fuckin comical and people dont take that shit seriously even though we might feel it out here. I think 40 should slip his foot in the door with a sound thats universal that everyone can feel and when hes in, fuck everyone over by introducin that bay slap and have that tite little bitch on TRL shakin her titties to it. As for "tell me when to go", its got some promise to it, the video should have big cameos to let these fagget ass people around the nation show that 40 fucks with everybody, i think keak shoulda came harder like he came on "the dome cracka, the wig splitta" or "super-Hyphie", and the same niggas talkin on here like 40 is weak are the same niggas that are gonna be ridin dick if the song blows. i got beats holla.

yeah but it was a concept video and it looks like for the new one they were really tryin to capture that BAY vibe to go with the song so I think this one is gonna be hella new to mainstream audiences, well I KNOW its gon be new but I bet after they peep it its gon be hard for them BET kids to resist growin dreads and shakin em like jesus did haha
