There is more to the Bay than E-40. I got luv for 40 and I think he is real creative, but people act like if he doesn't make it then the bay can't make it. This isn't 4 years ago when 40 ans Sort was all the Bay had to offer. It's a whole new bunch of fresh new artist. If you go ask the youngsta's it's all about F.A.B, The Team, The Frontline, Turf talk, Keak, J.Valintine...Sorry lovers of the OG'z, but the youngstaz have spoken and they are feelin the new bay area artist. I hope the best for 40, BUT the Bay doesn't exclusivly pass through him anymore.

don't expect this single to rock through trl. its on the right on path to do what its intended.

as commercially conforming hyphy sounding stuff is, it not intended to take over hip hop. i think its more intended to influence the trend of things and the bring back some moving power to bay area artists. and most importantly, something for bay area locals heads to enjoy and see on a national level.

fuck is jon doe and jane in kansas gives a fuck.

First off, Keak isn't a "fresh new artist". He's been around for almost as long as 40 has and is also an "OG". And these OG's, such as E-40, Keak Da Sneak, and San Quinn have some of the hottest singles in the Bay. Does "Tell Me When to Go", "Super Hyphie", and "Hell Yea" ring a bell?

Second, you obviously missed the point of my thread. In no way am I applying that the Bay's only chance to blow up is through E-40. What I'm saying is, if e-40's video, DOES blow, it will open up doors to the young acts and help them get deals and air play.

p.s. 40 and keak aint contesting team, turf, etc. i think they all realize how shit gets fucked up thru division. at this point, they all got decent places in the process.

@5ive1en...You missed my point. You asked what if 40's new single/vieo doesn't take off. What I'm saying is that if it doesn't the Bay still has life due to the emergenge of new artist as well as select OG'z like Keak, Quinn, Mess and E-A-Ski. I really hope that 40's project does really well and helps bring some shine back to the Bay. By the way you know the youngstaz are reshaping the scope of music out here...just look at 40's last batch of songs over the past two years. They are all on some hyphy, go dumb, yellow bus type shit...and if you follow 40's career-- that's not how he gets down. Still I hope 40 gets what he deserves.

I coulda named 50 better tracks than "still tippin" from Houston, but it did the trick because it promoted a culture that most people in the US have never seen. What it all comes down to is how other regions feel about our culture and that will most likely be the defining factor IMO...

You're on point. I noticed that too, and it took me a while to get used to. E-40 was always the trend setter, and I was a little thrown off when noticed he was following some of these trends instead...

You're on point too bro, my thoughts exactly.. Hopefully the Bay's movement will hit as hard as Houston's.
