IMO scrap music is more widespread because there are a lot of mainstream songs IE. songs to women.
Homeboy rappers ain't got that far yet. Mostly for the fact that they are ALL independently distributing thier own albums.
The majority of Mexican Rappers suck whether they are homeboys or scraps.
The homeboy rapper that are good shine way above most of the other rappers out there
