< Never met a Sureno/Norteno who is wealthy. ''Hood rich''...that's nice. Buy yourself a lowrider...get some new chains...
But without doing something with your life...watch your children grow up with nothing.
Get a job.
As far as the topic goes, I'll repeat what's probably already been said.
Sureno rap is more known, easily, than Norteno rap, because it's more commercialized, more acceptable (thanks to radio, magazines, movies, etc.), and has been around longer. Until a Norteno rapper makes it ''big'', they (the rappers) will always be 'that other side' when it comes to music. If you're ok with that, keep doing what you're doing. There's nothing wrong with adapting to the changes in time; sucessful people do it all the time. To 'get ahead' in life, you can't always stick to your stubborn, ignorant ways. There's nothing wrong with being proud of yourself, proud of where you're from. There's nothing worse than wanting to make it out, to get somewhere in life, and not be able to. The better feeling is to actually make it out, do something with yourself, and STILL be able to go back to your roots. I'm not suggesting anyone sell out to suceed; I know that goes against what many stand for and believe in. But if you look at people like Russell Simmons, etc...they've changed with the time, while remaining true to themselves.
BTW...Lil' Rob sucks.
