heres another perspective, MMA was the shit in the 90's. I dont know who did and who didnt watch it then but folks cant comment for what i think at least if you werent watching it from the beginning. They have added a bit to many rules for me but theres still a lot of fighters i like in UFC and a lot of them came from Pride where the rules werent as bad.

I don't understand why it's difficult for you to understand.

I'm sure many people love to watch Manny Pacquiao fight but don't give a shit about Peter Manfredo jr or some scrub.

See what I'm saying? I like certain styles of MMA. I like Silva cuz he's a stand up fighter, he boxes well and he's fun to watch (for the most part).

Compare that to say, Georges St-Pierre, while yeah he's good I just don't find him entertaining to watch.

Further I'm not saying I don't like MMA, I just don't care for it that much most of the time (not always). I'm a boxing fan so naturally I'm going to like when two guys are trading shots, like Forrest Griffin vs Stephan Bonnar for example.
That comment wasn't directed at just you.

I mean hell, there's several fighters in MMA that I don't care for, or find very entertaining. But I like the sport. Just like I love watching Pac fight, but most boxers these days I find boring. But again, that doesn't mean I don't like boxing as a sport because I do.

Oh well, it is what it is. No big deal.

MMA is still the shit, even though its wrestling point dominated sometimes(And that comes from a guy who has 18+yrs.sub.wrestling)not a fan of every fighter but every fighter deserves some degree of respect

I think tito ortiz is a faggot and I'm sure many people will co-sign with that statement.

i used to be able to say that about him but not anymore after meeting him and seeing him with his fans. he was the coolest dude at the fan expo and when i asked him to sign my ufc book he did then flipped through it with me and signed all his pics in it, then signed a bunch of team punishment shirts and gave them to me for no reason. i think hye is the way he is to sell fights but i dunno. anderson silva was suprisingly awesome with his fans too, the only person that was a dick was forrest griffin. it was like the twilight zone and people who i thought would be the best and worst flipped.

i agree and i think when wrestling is done right it's awesome to watch in MMA, like matt hughes n shit but then theres ppl where there main focus is to lay on you and just try to move into dominant positions just so the refs wont break it up and that shit bothers me all the time

I was extremely frustrated with BJ Penn and his corner during the fight last night. BJ did nothing different from the first fight and made no adjustments in the later rounds. I didn't hear his corner tell him one time to switch things up and go for a takedown. When he actually did that, it was too late. Looked like he had already accepted the defeat once he was in the fourth round. Guess Frankie is just a bad match up for him. I just hope he doesn't retire. I think he has a lot left in him.

Damien Mia showed his superior grappling skills once again. That guy is amazing on the ground.

Florian choked in a big fight once again. That was disappointing as well.

Randy did what he was supposed to do. I would LOVE to see Toney fight again, but against a pure striker.

Nate Diaz is the shit!

money? Same incentive for James Toney.

How much did he make btw? Anyone know?
Do you think it's that easy? I mean, he's already making a ton of money fighting in the UFC and through his endorsements and clothing line. How much do you think he could make in a boxing match with James Tony? I just think there is much more to it than money, especially when you're already making it. Tony was black-balled from boxing wasn't he? So fighting in the UFC seemed to be an act of desperation.

And to answer your question, Couture usually makes $250,000 per fight. But I don't know if he was paid more for this match or not.
