I thought it was a pretty dope card. I didn't even mind the Fitch fight all that much .. I think I've come to expect these kinds of fights from Fitch .. can't change what he is. I'd rather Fitch fights the style he needs to win than guys like Sherk stop using what they need to win and lose fights by winging reckless punches to have the ADD fans excited.

I don't see how anyone can say that Penn/Sanchez was not main event worthy. 1. Who else was he supposed to fight? 2. the last main event was fucking Griffin/Ortiz II, the worst fight on an otherwise good card.

Well it could be argued that Forrest beat half a Shogun and TUF'd his way to a title

He doesn't deserve top 10 right now, that's for damn sure.

BJ is amazing.

I was reading an article about how Henderson who I believe is the WEC interim 155 pound champ (correct me if I'm wrong) got an invitation to train with BJ before this fight, and he basicaly said that everything they did, whether it was boxing, wrestling, or jiu jitsu...BJ just kicked the shit out of him.

So I wonder who the hell is he gonna fight now?

No that can't be argued. Whether or not he was injured going into the fight with Forrest doesn't mean a god damned thing .. Shogun was #1 or #2 in most of the rankings and Forrest beat him then he went on to beat Rampage. Rankings are based on facts and shouldn't take silliness into the equation .. if Shogun knew he was injured that bad than don't fight .. once he makes the choice to fight it's all bullshit.

But it has been argued (Shogun being half a Shogun) ever since Forrest won the title ... Just because you don't think it should be argued, won't stop people from making that arguement

What facts are rankings based on? Who has Thiago Silva beat to deserve a Top 10 slot?

It's argued on how good the win was or people use it as reasons as to why he won't be able to do it again. In terms of argument over rankings you can't because all that matters in rankings is wins and loses. If Penn would've gotten injured in the last round and Sanchez won his title you can guarantee Sanchez would've shot up in rankings.

Thiago Silva is in because there's really no one else to put in his spot. Everyone has to fall in a spot on the ladder and if anything that just proves my point that Forrest should be in the top 10. He has better wins than other fighters that are currently ranked.

I might be wrong here but I can't find the info I need to back me up but your argument doesn't hold up all the way if Thiago was ranked higher than he is now (without any real quality wins to his credit) when Rashad had the belt.

When Rashad was champion the division was in shambles. The title had changed hands several times over and everyone at LHW was beating each other up .. Thiago being ranked higher at the time isn't that big of a thing considering the rankings at that time didn't matter much because there wasn't any stability in the division.

Rankings should be a snapshot in time and at that time shit was all over the place. Machida went on to crush Thiago, Rashad & beat Shogun to bring some stability to the division. With a little bit of stability brought back rankings sort themselves out & Thiago dropped a little on the list. Let me ask you this .. who would you have ranked above him?

The rest of the division is full of up and coming prospects or top 25 stalwarts.

I can't remember where specifically Thiago was ranked and who else was ranked at that time. The only thing he had going for him was that he was undefeated until the Machida fight. It's weird how one day they were talking about how stacked LHW was then it wasn't so stacked (when Rampage "retired"), now it's stacked again.

There's some inconsistency in your argument though (or maybe inconsistency in the ranking system). On one hand, Forrest HAS to be ranked because on paper he has good wins, but Silva is ranked even though the wins he has, and let's be real here, aren't really that impressive and never have been.

Does it sound like I'm picking on Thiago? :lick:
