wow tony total flip flop for a couple days ago when you blamed floyd.

Listen, the first negotiations started with floyd wanting OST's and Pac willing to give 3 non-random blood tests, they negotiated all the way to 14 day cutoff and then the fight died. It was a totally different scenario starting from that and eventually working it's way to 14-days, which took months to get to before it died completely.

Fast-forward to now and they picked up from where they left off (14-days).

That's why man.

When did I blame Floyd? If he doesn't want to fight right now then he doesn't want to fight. I would blame Floyd if Floyd ended up fighting someone else other than Pacquiao.

We can watch the fight together at a theater or something and put whatever on the table. If Floyd wins, I take the scratch. If Pacquiao win, you take the scratch.
This is the only way I'd ever consider making a bet for money with somebody over the Internet. I don't trust anybody enough to think they'll pay up a bet they lost on a message forum, so it's lose-lose for me. If I lose, I pay, if I win, they don't pay. Fuck that.

The fight will never happen because Fraud is scared. IF it does (very big IF) and you want to place a wager, this will be the only way I'd accept it. I got 5 racks on Pacquiao in Vegas if it goes down. Maybe more, depending on when Fraud finally gets tired of being called a pussy and decides to sacrifice is unbeaten record for a payday.

By the way, the 50/50 split is just another excuse for Fraud if he decides to whine about it. Neither of these guys can make that much money without each other, so it's apparent to anyone without a crack pipe crazy-glued to their lip that a 50/50 split is fair. I don't give a fuck if Fraud's fights sell more PPV's. The fact of the matter is the only reason the purse will be so large is because he's fighting Pacquiao. That alone should settle it.

If he uses that as another excuse, he's nothing but a punk ass bitchmade pussy boy.

You're clinging to Pac's scrotum. If Pacquiao didn't want to fight right now and concentrate on his political career you'd be all for it huh.... but then if Floyd doesn't want to fight right now you say it's the best he can come up with.... like it's an excuse to run from Pacquiao.

Pac should've taken the deal back in January when it was on the table and had the 50/50 purse split. All he had to do with take the the random blood test with no cut off date and he refused. Who would've passed that up for all those millions? Now all of a sudden he's agreeing to the blood test. Team Pac need to quit playing games.

Of course I could see Floyd doesn't want to fight right now, I mean it did come out of his mouth right?
Pacquiao didn't want to be bullied by Fraud and his bullshit stipulations. He finally got tired of it and gave in. Pacquiao has his reasons (which he stated LONG before Fraud ever came up with his demands) about not wanting the blood tests so close to fight night. He stated he felt weak after the first Morales fight because of the blood being drawn so close to the fight. Mayweather knew this and used it as a wall to guard his undefeated record. That has become obvious after he denied a fight with his own stipulations in the agreement. His bullshit excuse about Pacquiao's camp never contacting him have been blown out of the water by his own people. He didn't think Pacquiao would agree and he wanted to make himself look like he was willing to fight, but Pac wasn't. It backfired.

Bottom line is Mayweather is being a punk ass bitch and backing down from the fight.

Wow, you'd be willing to bet 5 racks against Floyd? I know you hope/want Floyd to lose but don't be a fool. You got that much faith in Pacquiao huh...

And the 50/50 purse split is not an excuse. It's the principal. The bigger the draw, the bigger the purse split. Floyd settled for less when he fought De La Hoya. And now Floyd is the man so Pacquiao would have to settle for less. That's just the way it is.

I don't think any negotiations took place because I remember someone posting a video with Floyd and a young cancer patient, and Floyd said that he won't be fighting again this year. So why would he negotiate if he wasn't planning on fighting again this year?

He stated he felt weak after the first Morales fight because of the blood being drawn so close to the fight
He also stated that he didn't eat or drink before the first Morales fight too so that he could make weight. That probably is why he felt weak. I like how you get on Floyd for his so called excuses but then Pacquiao gets a pass.

^^^again floyd isn't involved in negotiating, he has people do that for him.

It's already been revealed that Bob Arum negotiated with Al Hymon and Greenburg acted as the middleman.

Floyd didn't want to fight Pacquiao though so the negotiations were pointless. I don't think its about him not wanting to fight this year as there are talks he's trying to fight Cotto in December.

Why would Floyd want to fight Cotto in December? Come on now, you can't believe everything you hear bro...
like I said it's just talk but don't be surprised if Floyd signs to fight someone this year. His options are limited - Cotto and Sergio Martinez. P-Will and Berto are likely out of the equation because Al Haymon managers floyd/p-will/berto and he never ever has his own guys fight eachother.

Plus, I can sort of see the logic in fighting cotto:

1). Floyd could win Cotto's 154 pound belt. Pac is fighting Margarito for a vacant 154 pound belt. Nice set up if they are to fight next year.

2). Money. If floyd could outsell Pac vs Cotto's PPV numbers, that could be floyd's way of saying, "see, I'm the bigger draw I deserve 60/40" or whatever.

It is all talk though you're right so we'll have to see what he decides to do. But personally I'm not buying the "I'm on vacation" as an excuse.

This article is from Thomas Hauser, the most credible and respected boxing writer on the planet. Reveals some more information about Al Haymon. He's a sneaky guy, trying to secure fights for other of his fighters with HBO by promising Pac-Floyd will happen.

Hauser: The Mayweather-Pacquiao Negotiations

Posted Jul. 22, 2010 at 11:50am
By Thomas Hauser

Too often, boxing gives the impression that the inmates are running the asylum. That phenomenon has been on display recently in the conflicting, and sometimes absurd, public pronouncements regarding the proposed Nov. 13 fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

For several months, the public was told that negotiations were proceeding pursuant to a self-imposed gag order that the participants had put in place to avoid incendiary statements that might derail the fight.

On June 10, Golden Boy president Oscar De La Hoya (Mayweather’s co-promoter as of late) broke the silence and told Univision that a deal for the bout was “very close.”

On June 30, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum (Pacquiao’s promoter) told SI.com that, with HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg acting as an intermediary, he and Mayweather advisor Al Haymon had reached a tentative agreement for the fight. All that was necessary, Arum said, was for Mayweather to sign off on the deal points.

Mayweather was silent on the issue. Thus, Arum set a deadline of midnight on the night of Friday, July 16. If there was no response from Mayweather by then, rather than keep Pacquiao out of the ring indefinitely, Team Pacquiao would seek another opponent.

Midnight came and went. At 12:01AM, Arum announced on a teleconference call that Mayweather had failed to respond positively or negatively to the terms that had been hammered out by Greenburg, Haymon and himself. As a result, the promoter said, he would explore other options for Pacquiao.

Then things took a turn evocative of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. On July 19, Team Mayweather issued a statement from Mayweather advisor Leonard Ellerbe denying that negotiations for Mayweather-Pacquiao had ever taken place.

“Here are the facts,” Ellerbe’s statement read. “Al Haymon, [Golden Boy CEO] Richard Schaefer and myself speak to each other on a regular basis. The truth is, no negotiations have ever taken place nor was there ever a deal agreed upon by Team Mayweather or Floyd Mayweather to fight Manny Pacquiao on November 13. Either Ross Greenburg or Bob Arum is not telling the truth, but history tells us who is lying.”

Of course, there’s a third possibility: that Leonard Ellerbe is not telling the truth.

So what really happened?

Greenburg was extremely eager to make Mayweather-Pacquiao a reality. Multiple sources say that, this spring, he told Arum, “‘I want to put this fight together. I can do it with Haymon.”

Later, at a June 3 tribute to Arum at the Friar’s Club in New York, Ross assured Bob, “I can get this fight.”

“I never talked to Haymon,” Arum told RingTV.com. “It was all done through Ross. Ross represented to me that he was talking to the Mayweather side through Haymon, and it was left to Haymon to deal with the rest of the Mayweather people. Based on what Ross told me, I asumed that we had a meeting of the minds on money and drug-testing. There was no done deal for a site, but the most likely site was Las Vegas. The MGM Grand wanted the fight. Steve Wynn was interested. Jerry Jones might have given us a blank check and told us to fill in the amount if we went to Dallas. But all the talk about finalizing the venue was premature.”

“Haymon never represented to Ross that Floyd had signed off on the deal,” Arum continued. “According to Ross, Haymon always said that he had to get final approval from Mayweather. But if Ross is to be believed – and I believe him here – Haymon said that he, meaning Haymon, was satisfied with the terms.”

A source at HBO with knowledge of the situation said that there was a time during negotiations when Haymon tried to use the promise of the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight to secure TV dates for several of his other fighters. Greenburg, according to the source, appropriately refused.

It’s unclear what role, if any, Golden Boy was to play in the promotion. “That was up to the Mayweather people,” Arum said. “Depending on the day, I got mixed signals through Ross. From time to time, Ross would tell me that Haymon was checking certain things with Schaefer. Other times, I got the impression that maybe Golden Boy was out.”

As the world knows, July 16 passed with no deal for Mayweather-Pacquiao. Then Ellerbe issued his statement denying the existence of negotiations.

Ellerbe’s claim is undermined by the reasonable assumption he read reports about the negotiations in the media yet never publicly suggested to anyone that the reports were wrong. At the very least, one would have expected him to pick up the phone, call Greenburg and ask, “What are these reports all about?”

One would also think that, if there were no negotiations, Greenburg would have called Arum to inquire about the reports.

Arum put it more bluntly, saying, “Is Ellerbe crazy? If there were no negotiations, why was everyone talking about a gag order?”

Al Haymon has refused to comment publicly on the controversy. So has Greenburg. Where Haymon is concerned, that’s par for the course. Regarding Greenburg, the view here is that Ross owes Arum the courtesy of a public statement that negotiations did, in fact, occur (the assumption here being that they did).

As for the future? Arum noted in his midnight statement, “People have asked me, ‘Does this mean the Mayweather fight is dead?’ Even though Mayweather has not responded by the deadline, the deal is dead when we reach a deal with an opponent for Manny’s fight in November. Then we are contractually bound to do that fight. In the interim, if Floyd suddenly emerged and said he wanted to do the fight, there would be nothing opposed to getting together and doing the fight. That is our position, and I hope it is as clear as I can make it.”

In that vein, one source says that Haymon met with Greenburg this past Tuesday, and told him, “Don’t worry. I have everything under control.”

Maybe he does. Maybe he doesn’t.

The fight will happen if Mayweather wants it. If he’s afraid of Pacquiao, it won’t.

Man I don't know what to believe. If Floyd fights anyone else other than Pacquiao then I'll agree that he's ducking Pacquiao. Until then I guess Floyd is taking a break.

btw tony, Mayweather is in Puerto Rico right now and there are video's of him attending a cockfight (although youtube just removed them because of animal cruelty). So that's where the rumors are coming from. Maybe he's there to try to fight cotto, or maybe he wants to co-promote fights in PR with cotto, i dunno.

Someone should assasinate Al Haymon. He won't let any of his fighters fight each other, and he seems to be the hold up of the biggest fight in boxing history. What a piece of shit.
