Dre owes a lot of his success to other producers, mainly Cold 187um. He basically bit the g-funk sound from him. Plus when Death Row was on top Daz and Quik were doing a lot of the production and not getting credit for it. I think Dre was the shit back in the Straight Outta Compton/Eazy Duz It/ No One Can Do It Better Days, but after that other people basically shaped his sound for him...

187UM DID ORIGINATE G-FUNK. AND DONT GET ME WRONG I AM A BIG ABOVE THE LAW FAN AND RECOGNIZE WHO BROUGHT WHAT TO THE TABLE. BUT DRE MADE THE G-FUNK SOUND MORE APPEALING TO THE MAINSTREAM AND TIGHTENED IT UP. LISTEN TO UNCLE SAM'S CURSE AND CHRONIC... BOTH ARE BANGING BUT MAN DRE MADE THAT SHIT SOUND CLEAN.

I hope Dre's Detox will be a west coast album like 2001 was, which means no guest appearances from gay-unit or any other clown.

I know that it sounds unreal like " The bay is back" sentence.

The hate he gets is uncalled for. Niggas is just butt hurt because he won't work with they favorite rapper. If any of you clowns had a Dr. Dre album you would know that he do give credit to the musicians who play on his shit. You don't have to play instruments to get production credits.

Hell naw.. And @ sleepy Pac didn't think straight sometimes. He had Suge all in his ear..Dre was the smartest one on Death Row..He dipped and the company was over..What if he was still was on Death Row and in the car in Vegas? You ever thought about that? Do you think Pac still would have died if he were on death row..Suge Knight might not be the guy you look for advice when you’re in a middle of a beef that will generate sells for him.
easy there slow poke rodriguez, i just put what the fuck pac said about dre in the follow up to Stockton...
Honestly, i could really give a fuck about beef if it aint mine, and when it comes to artists beefin, shit is for sales anyway, i just wanna ride to some hood music....
As for Pac bein on death row and in the car in vegas and blah blah blah,
you might be right on some issues, but if he were never on death row, we would have never had all eyez on me, makavelli and what not........
You gotta pay the cost to be a boss, and thats what pac did unfortunately...

Hand Outs from Dr. Dre

why do artists expect hand outs from dre.

When artists get on by dre they expect him to totally make beats and push them.

Then it seems like they get mad and so do the fans.

thoughts?

he has more power than like 97% of producers out there. his own coast fell off and it seems like he's just watching.

I think because he promises them an album, produces and records the whole album, and then just shelves the album. Shit, I'd be pretty pissed, too. I'd feel like I just wasted a lot of my time and got nowhere. He did this to King Tee, Hittman, and Knocturnal. I'm sure there are others.

I feel this..although, I dont feel Dre is OBLIGATED to do anything, it would be a good look...Its also kind of weird because when his album drops(if ever) he will probably be hollering "WEST COAST" every couple of bars and all through his album like he always does...thats coo & all and he has the right to do so, it just seems that he would be more involved if he were going to rep it like that..Now, if he completely stopped making music, then he's good..but it just seems like he would want to "help" more often, especially since he said he is focusing on NEW ARTISTS ONLY from here on out...

But then again, im sure some of these new cats act like they KNOW IT ALL and he probably wouldnt want to waste his time with some of them..but who knows, he might have some new artists under his belt now...we dont know what he is doing...

1. Dre should be able to release an album whenever he feels like it.
2. Dre produces who he wants to produce
3. Why are people saying "Dre is letting the westcoast fall off"? With all these fuckin rappers in Cali and surrounding areas who talk big about being the "wests best kept secret", and keep flooding the market with garbage you would think they would want to step up to the plate...
4. Cali artists do 4 self. Dre doesnt owe any of us shit! If you want the game so bad, learn to play ball.
Leave the street shit alone and broaden your horizen when it comes to music and quit thinking that California or the westcoast has to be the mecca for rap music. Quit thinkiing that the bay is on point and everyone else is shit!.

Im sure Dre would open his eyes to Northern California and the rest of So. Cal if people started acting like they had some common sense and were making songs. Real songs!!
And if he doesnt so what.
We have E-A-SKI, Jt the bigga Figga, Black C, Bosko, One Drop scott, Mike Mosley, and a handful of other niggas that got beats. I can bet my right nut that if someone actually came correct on any of these hot producers beats they would blow up like the world trade!!! Quit worrying about "this guy doesnt show luv here or there" He doesnt act like he's from LA, or the Bay or the East.
Just make music...
