Hey redstorm,
I feel you, but its really not that bad for you. I'm in the military and every morning and every evening while on base we have to stop where we are stand up and come to attention when they play the anthem. If we don't someone could write us up. And in the military it isnt like getting a referral or an attitude from a teacher. Its like getting a bad mark on our record which reflects on us through our lives. They make no room for rebels. It really doesn't bother me anymore, but I guess I will appreciate the freedoms I had before i joined a lot more. And yeah, keep sittin down, fucc what they say.

if you are atheist or dont believe in God then you have a right not to pledge because of the "one nation under God" line.

but it seems here that you are just saying fuck you USA im a lazy fuccker and dont want to pledge allegiance to you even though you offer me more than any other country in the world can.

and that i find disrespectful, and all other people who have lost loved ones fighting for this country and to keep it free, should also find it disrespectful.

IF your atheist or dont believe in god....eh dont say the god part....
revised version for atheiest
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation, indivisable with liberty and justice for all"
NOW was that soo hard?....you like our country....Stay in we would love to have you:)...you got a real serious problem with pledging an allegiance to it..i said it before...and ill say it again....BOUNCE!
Think about it..hmm those last lines..liberty and justice for all...are those such hard things to pledge allegiance to....
To you^^^two: Reread what I wrote and tell me where I said that being an atheist is my reason for not standing. Don't assume anything. And @ Mcleanhatch: I don't say fuck the United States, I say fuck 99% of the people. And don't you think that standing up everyday in to "pledge allegiance" to this country is a little excessive? I don't have to say something every day for it to be true. I don't have to look at my ID card every day to know who I am, I don't have to carry a card around that says, "I'm a male" to know what my sex is, so why is it disrespectful to not stand even though I know that (or if) I respect this country (or not)?

LOL, I find it funny how Mclean is over here saying without this country you would not have free speech, but in the same sentence, denouncing free speech. You also say we need more people who are not affraid to be politically incorrect, well technically, not participating in the pledge would be considered politically incorrect. Aside from all that, I don't know about you, but the whole pledge of allegance seems like something communist countries would do. Ya know, those evil commies! First they start controlling your mind, then they control your wallet. Mclean your a DAMN COMMIE BASTARD!

no your backwards. discontinuing the pledge in a school of 1000 because of 1 or 2 kids is being POLITICALLY CORRECT. what i say they should do is say we are going to do the pledge no matter what if you are atheist or cant perform because of religeous reasons then dont every1 else will period! thats what i meant by not being afraid of being POLITICALLY INCORRECT

Mcleanhatch: freedom of speech and freedom to live "freely" isn't a fuckin privilege it's a god given right. Fuck whoever says otherwise. You have some weird views man. I remember you said that mexicans don't care about their position in this country or something to that effect, why would you say that when your mexican yourself? I'm curious, what makes you think the way you do? Your tooooo conservative.

it WASN'T to that effect>>>>>. what i said was thet mexicans in general arent as politically active as are blacks and other minorities. you dont see mexicans organizing marches and having major rallies very often like other minorities. i mean the only protest by mexicans that i have seen in the past couple of years is a ceasar chaves union rally (about 3 months ago maybe?). probly nefar559 would know when that happened. i believe it was a march from maybe fresno to sacramento?

and that rally wasnt even for mexican american rights! it was to extend rights to mexicans from mexico who come here illegally.

a chear chavez union rally!?!?
it was given by the United Farm Workers, they wanted some bills
to pass what would "call for mediators and the Agricultural Labor Relations Board to decide the terms of a contract when negotiations between farmworkers and growers fail to strike a deal."

guess what?...it passed!!!!

that's the reason why I don't bow down to a country that doesn't allow me to go about my business. This worlds full of bullshit governments and just because we're better than the worst doesn't make us good.

Most mexicans can't do shit because they aren't citizens. That's why it's like that. They're too worried about the INS jumpin on their back. It has nothing to do with not having the will to do rally & fight like the blacks are, they don't have to worry about being deported. California did used to be mexico, my families been living here for generations since it was like that. It's funny (in a fucked up way) how the government takes the land for literally nothing then says that the indigenous people to this land aren't citizens?
