Is is disrespectful not to stand up for the Pledge of Allegiance? I was in class a couple of days ago and it was time to recite the Pledge, but I didn't stand up. So this substitute just starts going off on me trying to make me stand up. The bitch actually tried to tell me it was SCHOOL POLICY! I was like, "What the fuck?" Now, I never do stand up anyway because I find it a waste of time and energy to stand up, put my hand over my heart for a couple seconds, then sit down again. I'm just too lazy for that. But does anyone find that offending? Does it show disrespect for this country? I don't think so, but I was just wondering what your thought are.

I don't think it is, but a lot of people do. You should report that your substitute was trying to force you to do it, and get her fired...

They stopped doin' the Pledge of Allegiance after elementary School(except for Graduations)
Not either of my elementary schools nor my junior high school did the pledge. The only one was my high school. I don't get it. And @ Snubnoze, I don't think that'll work because she was a (full time) teacher at my school for like 20 years. She just retired like 5 years ago and became a sub recently, so the school will have her back. Fuck em all. It's all bullshit.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United Staes of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, One nation under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all."

I look at this statement and I think "what's so wrong about it?". If everybody actually did this I think the United States of America would finally be the good guys I've been searchin for. This nation was founded on good people with good beliefs. But the system we use to govern our people is filled with imperfections. When people went to George Washington and asked him if he wanted to be king or a president I think he should of said "I want to be king". If a good King provides for his people and protects them in truth why would anybody want to disagree with him? The only people that would would be the reason that everything is fallin apart. Jealousy, envy, money, and secrets ripped this world to shit. Damn the mothafucker that lies to you, damn the mothafucker that takes advantage of your kindness and generosity, and especially Damn the mothafucker who teaches people that this is alright, and damn every mothafucker who continues to believe this bullshit even tho they know in thier hearts that this is wrong. I don't even like to fight, I wish the world would fix itself. But as I grow older I realize that this is not going to happen unless the good people take action. We HAVE to go to war yall. Die for what you believe in and let God judge the criminals. I am perfect as well as are my people. One bad apple spoils the whole bunch unless we kick that shit outta there. We are all connected in one being, but it's time to pluck out the eye that offends us and cut off the arm that causeth us to sin, for it is better to enter into Heaven missing one of these then to have our whole body cast into hell. Real Talk.

"I will change this." -Us

"Get me in this. I'm ready to kill somebody." -Tired

if you are atheist or dont believe in God then you have a right not to pledge because of the "one nation under God" line.

but it seems here that you are just saying fuck you USA im a lazy fuccker and dont want to pledge allegiance to you even though you offer me more than any other country in the world can.

and that i find disrespectful, and all other people who have lost loved ones fighting for this country and to keep it free, should also find it disrespectful.

while its true that most 5 and 6 year olds dont know what it means by doing it everyday by the time they are 12 year olds they will and the pledge instills i sence of loyalty and of responsibility to ones country and to onesself, which in turn builds character

First off, yes, I am an atheist. Secondly, Canada can give me a better education and a lower drinking age. Beat that!

Think about it..hmm those last lines..liberty and justice for all...are those such hard things to pledge allegiance to....

thats a great idea. now if we could only get important people in power who are afraid of being politically incorrect to grow some nuts and to stand up for what they believe in we be better off.

it pisses me off to hear that a school of a 1000 students stops doing the pledge of allegiance because of 1 person who claims to be atheist and becasue they are afraid of getting sued. thats bullshit when 1 person ruins it for the other 999 students.

this case appeared in the courts like in the 1950s, but it wasn't
becuase of the "under God" line, it was becuase the person didn't believe in it, and thought it was hypocrisy. So he didn't have
to say it. or for anyone who didn't want too.

it feels good, that one person brought the "under God" part line
to the lime light. instead of just agreeing with everything we
are feed. Shows that people are smart. :-D
Shows some people have balls.....didn't ruin me.

u guys know who wrote the pledge a leftist. :)
but later some foo added the "under God" part.
