all i can say is mac dre and the rest may have rapped about getting stupid in the late 80's but he alsorapped as a 35 year old man about poppin pills and ghost ridin an shit so......... what the fuck is he tryna say? dont go dumb cuz he popularized it? i thought someone thats been in the game as long as him might have had somthing more useful to say. the real reason the majors and bet dont fuck wit the bay is cuz niggas have no business skills or clue about the business. its a whole different world when you make that step ito try and go mainstream. in 1 month the federation cant use stunnas at night,fabs ghost ride it! its too much of a headache!

I appreciate your opinion. And no you shouldn’t be impressed with me using the words STUPID & DUMB on a song. I don't want credit for creating Going dumb, stupid etc. I did not create it. Perhaps my emotions interfered with the clarity of my point, which is we were doing that in 1986! Right along with the sideshows in east Oakland. Again I could of over expressed myself on my original post I don't know its been a month so I will say it again. I knock no artist or his or her music. I like what I like just like you do. As for being a hypocrite of sorts for saying we have TOO MANY songs about the same topics i.e. weed, pills, drank, scrapes etc.. I agree with you to some extent. For me I have never told an artist what to write about so I won't start with my new generation of artist they are all 19-25 so there you have it. By the way I am a walking contraction like most humans

I am the OG of our label so my music meaning my solo album ... Few Things to Know.. and that Blackalation 2 & 3 will speak for me personally, musically speaking. Also I WILL do the Young Black Brotha Podcast' The ORGIN going stupid and Dumb.. this week so you can at least hear the songs I spoke of. Again thank you and the rest for ALL your comments and love... and yes maybe im a lil pissed but at least im getting it out and most importantly I have LOTS of new music that I believe will Inspire us to get that life we want!!!

IMO theres alot of creative rap out in the bay and alot of non-creative rap out. its up to the fans to support whats good and whats not. its a waste of time telling someone your music sucks you need to make it better because if theyre movin units and feedin their families off it, theyre not going to try and change it and improve it.[/QUOTE]

They had a song called ‘Cold Getting Dumb.’ That really meant to release your energy and just not care. There was another song called ‘Get Retarded.’”
Davey D, an activist that resides in Oakland, stated that the notion of Hyphy has manifested itself through the years through terms like “buckwild,’” “getting stupid,” “get a little stupid,” and “get ill.”
“Later down the road, you had people like Digital Underground that talked about ‘getting stupid’ and, if you look at the ‘Humpty Dance,’ it kind of reminds me of certain parts of Hyphy,” Davey D says. “I don’t know if cats that are [getting hyphy] today are old enough to know that history, but I do think its something to note.”
Still, the Crump-meets-Crunk motion displayed by those “going dumb” is much more of a rebellious statement than just an excuse to wild out. It is the expression of Bay Area youth who have claimed their own self-expression and use it as a badge of resiliency amid harsh physical circumstances in the social and Hip-Hop realms. Hip-Hop culture has its roots in pride, truth, courage and self-determination, and as a result it has grown to influence almost every segment of the planet. The Bay area is finally demanding to be recognized for the role it’s played in that big picture.
