Giants recalled C Hector Sanchez from Triple-A Fresno.
Sanchez went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts during a brief call-up earlier this season. He'll be used sparingly behind Chris Stewart while Eli Whiteside recovers from a concussion on the seven-day disabled list.

Giants placed C Eli Whiteside on the seven-day disabled list with a concussion.
Whiteside injured himself on a hard slide on a stolen-base attempt on Wednesday. Hector Sanchez has taken his place on the roster, though Chris Stewart will take his place in the starting lineup. It's quite possible Whiteside will be able to return when first eligible next Thursday.

Carlos Beltran (hand) is expected to resume baseball activities this weekend.
This at least makes it a possibility that he will be ready to return when first eligible on Tuesday. However, that's the best case scenario, and you shouldn't count on having him back in your lineup for at least the next 7-to-10 days. His status should be updated over the weekend.

Jonathan Sanchez (ankle) is still in line to make his scheduled Sunday start against the Astros.
As previously reported, Sanchez will throw off flat ground today, though it sounds like the Giants are going with a healthy until proven otherwise approach. Even if he's ultimately not able to go on Sunday, Sanchez appears almost certain to avoid a trip to the disabled list, and should be a safe start in weekly leagues next week.

Brian Wilson (elbow) "could" play catch on Friday.
However, there's currently no timetable for when he'll again be available. There hasn't been any indication yet that Wilson could be staring at a trip to the disabled list, though it wouldn't be surprising if that's ultimately where he ends up. Giants manager Bruce Bochy is going with a committee in the ninth inning in Wilson's absence

Updating a previous item, Pablo Sandoval was scratched from Friday's lineup due to an injury to his left shoulder.
The severity of the injury isn't yet known, but the Giants obviously can't afford to lose him again for an extended period time. Sandoval is batting .307/.347/.511 this season and .317 with three homers and an .898 OPS this month. We'll pass along more information once it is made available.

Bochy should win manager of the year in a landslide this year. This is the line ups he's had to put out there, and giants are still above .500. Lookin at all the injuries, the difference in runs scored and runs against, this is Bochy's best year ever...

Are you INSANE?! The only reason the team is above .500 is because of the pitching....Bochy has been worse than last year in almost all respects.
