Franchised tagged him last year and he made a shit load of money, and didn't have one of his better years. This year, just didn't have enough money to re-sign him. They tried, Saints just had more money to spend so it's not like the Chargers just dumped him. Obviously these things happen in sports, it's a business. He'll have a good year in that offense, good for him.
I'm not sure about rushing, but he caught 7 passes for 75 yards and had a 71 yard punt return TD.
Not to anything away from Sproles, but look at the run on the Sportscenter highlights, he went untouched. The blocking is what made that touchdown, pretty much anybody with good speed would have taken that to the house. Good for Sproles though, I wish him nothing but the best.
Don't know what else SD wanted from sproles he led your squad in receptions last season. Also in his first game with the saints against the packers defense he went off for 250 all purpose yards. I'll take that!

Dude, we wanted Sproles but didnt have enough money to pay him what the Saints offered. Would have put us over the salary cap. We'll be fine without him anyway.
I have Sproles On both my Fantasy Rosters. I consider his value similar to Wes Welker. They may not be the best at their position however with the surrounding talent on their team they may find themselves open more making them more productive.
