^^^LT wanted out just as much as AJ wanted him gone. He also, didn't want to be a #2 back, knowing we were gonna draft a RB or sign one in free agency, but was content with being one in NY.
How'd he trash the o-line? By saying they were pass blocking? Isn't that the truth? Why is it ok for fans (who only know what the media tells them) to trash the organization when shit is going south but when a player who's not only been in the organization for damn near 10 years but has been the face of it says the same shit all hell breaks loose?
Fans and PROFESSIONAL athletes are two very different things so I'm not even going to comment on that lol.
How is "all hell breaking lose"???
That's NOT what he was saying. He didn't like the fact that we had become a pass first team (half of that his own fault) and was selfish about the offense not revolving around him. He said the O-Line was garbage, even if they were, you don't throw former teammates under the bus like that. Should have taken the high road, put all that behind him, and make his mark as a Jet. He couldn't admit that he was half the problem and had lost 2 steps and would constantly trip over his own 2 feet. He had one of the best O-Lines last year and was the feature back, did he look like the "old" LT??? Definitely not. He was done and AJ made the right move for business and for the best of our team, LT couldn't come to grips with that.
Some truth I read earlier:
"He said he didn't want to take less money in SD to be a "third down backup mentoring RB" and then he took the exact same deal for the Jets. And he tore apart the team and front office on the way out, like he was put out in the cold. When in reality, he wasn't even willing to talk to the Chargers about a similar deal. If anyone should be hurt it should be the Chargers. They hung on to him way past his prime, past his nagging injuries, and kept giving him opportunites to be a starting RB in this league. And when it became apparent that he could no longer "go" as a #1 option, he was hurt and angry at others rather than accept it within in himself and he acted like a jerk."
Do you remember him saying he would NEVER retire as a Charger as long as AJ smith was GM? (Not being professional enough to put your differences aside punishes the fans)
Do you remember him saying he would possibly go into the hall of fame as a Jet if he played there one year and they won the SB? (Nobody does that)
Do you remember his sly remarks last year and laughing that we struggled and didn't make the playoffs?
I'm not one of those "LT haters" and have no hard feelings towards him, still have a lot of love for him and can't wait to see him retire as a Charger, but I tell it like it is. I really don't want to get into a back and forth debate about this because the fact that you love LT is cool with me. So do I.
