BS! That's straight up BS....
it was a flawed way of saying it....good d's that keep the score low and make the pressure a lot lower on young qbs make a difference...

but the good d wont help him fit in that pass in tight coverage or make his long ball more accurate...

Vince has his come from behind victorys like any good qb....3 off the top of my head but im sure theres more

lol @ this........

According to CBSSports.com, the Raiders recently sent a "scathing" letter to University of Tennessee president John Petersen regarding the school's hiring of Lane Kiffin.
"It is ... quite possible that during the period of time for which Kiffin is seeking compensation from the Raiders he was also actively supplying information about the team to its opponents," Raiders general counsel Jeff Birren wrote. "It cannot be in the best interests of the University to continue to serve as (Kiffin's) ally in his personal, though misplaced, war to rewrite the past." Due to his grievance over salary owed, Kiffin is scheduled to be deposed by Raiders attorneys next week.

Raiders agreed to terms with T Khalif Barnes on a one-year contract.
As stopgaps go, he's a better solution than Kwame Harris last year. But he's nothing special, and struggles in pass protection. JaMarcus Russell should still be rooting for Oakland to invest a draft pick at left tackle. At least Barnes will be motivated in a contract year.

anything is better than kwame im just hoping they try to bring in pace with a 1 yr deal and a option for a 2nd... i really think they are gonna make some draft day moves like trade fargas or hopefully trade down with philly and get nicks and mack ohhh that would go hard in the paint!!!

Barnes deal shows Cable-Davis on the same page
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Saturday, March 14th, 2009 at 4:27 pm in Oakland Raiders.

In contrast to the ugliness of the previous regime between owner and coach, this is how the relationship is supposed to work.

Tom Cable got what he wanted in left tackle Khalif Barnes, according to an ESPN report. Al Davis got what he wanted, waiting until contract terms were favorable on a player who has had some off-the-field issues.

Barnes reportedly signed a one-year contract, meaning if he puts a good season together, he can seek bigger money next year when he will still be only 27 years old. From the sounds of it, Davis did a good job selling Barnes on that notion.

Having Barnes aboard will also keep a fire under Mario Henderson, and also ideally move Cornell Green to the bench, the role he was supposed to have for two seasons.

good shit

I like the way the team is approaching everything this year

complete opposite of last year when we were just signing EVERYBODY to huge long term deals

props to Al for actually doing things right

trust me... these dudes wanna get paid

yeah they wanna win... but I think people always assume that winning is a priority for these games... sometimes gettin paid is a priority

beleivethat...

we see players leave great teams all the time to go to teams who are worse...
