MCFADDEN WILL START
Posted by Mike Florio on September 21, 2008, 11:46 a.m.

NFL.com’s Michael Fabiano reports that Raiders running back Darren McFadden is active and will start on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

McFadden and Michael Bush will be the primary ball carriers, given the injury to starter Justin Fargas.

The rookie from Arkansas rushed for 164 yards in Week Two.
Get The Fuck Out Of Here U lost the bet.....Don't come back into this forum until next Sunday.

What other 2 backs? Bush and Huggy Bear? Them dudes are average homie..
Bush is a decent back...average is a good term. Fargas is a solid back...you've talked about him only being good at the end of last season...yet he had 1,000+ rushing. That's good. It's not easy to gain 1,000 with no O-line or passing game.

McFadden is not a beast or whatever the popular phrase is for him this week, but he has the potential to be a top-5 back very soon, IMO. Notice the italicized portion of my post.

I always thought that Felix Jones was the better back at Arkansas too....he's in the perfect situation in Dallas...Mcfadden is goin to have to earn every yard playin 4 the RAYDAZ

he's splitting carries with two other good backs. he's averaging close to 6ypc.
First of all, splitting carries helps his average. Second, he's averaging almost 15 carries per game, that's a full load for many starting backs in the league. Don't try to act like he's getting under 10 carries per game and still getting 100 yards rushing. THAT would be beasting, but that's not what's going down.

He had ONE good game against the worst team in the entire league. That particular game significantly improved his average. So like I said, one game is not enough.

You can make all the points in the world and they'll never get it through their head.

Fargas iz good off the bench & played well last year but he's not a featured back type of dude to me.....Just like a few other backs.....U guys give that guy way too many points..... And D-Mac being a top 5 back "soon" is too laughable........
In no particular order
Reggie Bush
Fred Taylor
Edgerrin James
Maurice Jones Drew
Ladanian Tomlison
Frank Gore
Larry Johnson
Marshawn Lynch
Willis McGahee
Clinton Portis
Adrian Peterson
Marion Barbar
Steven Jackson
Joseph Addih

These backs I named and several others are way better then him right now so unless he becomes Jim Brown or Marshall Faulk overnight he has a very long ways till he cracks that top 5......And save that sharing back bullshit cuz AD & Chester Taylor share just like Taylor/Jones Drew & Jones/Barbar.....And they are shittin on the Raiders duo big time.

I'm not doubting that he's not an every-down back; I'm making the point that he's a good back who had a great year last year. You may not agree with ''great'', but with no offensive line, no QB, no WR's, and him being a 'decent' back, it was great for him (and for us, for sure. lol).

Yeah...I said ''potential''...Kijana Carter had potential, too. I think he has the POTENTIAL to be a top-5 back. I'm not dillusional, thinking he's a ''beast'' right now. That list you put up was very impressive, indeed, except it doesn't prove anything besides the fact that there are a lot of backs on there that he'll have to compete against to get to that point.

I never said anything about it being RIGHT NOW. Soon, IMO, he'll be a very solid back. POTENTIALLY in the top 5, which is mostly a matter of opinion.

Huh. I must have missed that part. I didn't remember mentioning, or even believing in that arguement. Got me there. :ermm:

In no particular order
Reggie Bush (2 carries less. 100 yards less)
Fred Taylor (5 more carries. 64 yards less)
Edgerrin James (18 more carries. 4 yards less)
Maurice Jones Drew (13 carries less. 115 yards less)
Ladanian Tomlison (13 carries less. 129 yards less)
Frank Gore (16 more carries. only 35 more yards)
Larry Johnson (14 more carries. 35 less yards)
Marshawn Lynch (16 more carries. 35 less yards)
Willis McGahee (hasn't really played this year)
Clinton Portis (21 more carries. 4 yards less)
Adrian Peterson (21 more carries. 88 more yards)
Marion Barbar (18 more carries. 33 more yards)
Steven Jackson (16 more carries. 93 yards less)
Joseph Addai (1 carry less. 110 yards less)

( ) = stats compared to dmac

hmmm...where is your proof? we're talking now not last year. all those you've listed are better in YOUR OPINION. save the "he's had one good game" talk. maybe he's had 2 bad games.

and i'm not saying he's better than everybody on that list. just saying if you're going to throw out names like that. bring some proof.
all listed have PROVED they can do it on a consistint basis.....mcfadden is 3 games into his career....i would easily take every back on that list on proof alone.....mcfadden could break out and shit all over them.....but the proof is right now that mcfadden has only 1 game that he looked more then average.....and even that game he couldnt hold onto the ball....which is probally the biggest thing a rb has to do in his career

reggie is a bust at number 2 but a solid player.....anyone expecting him to run between the tackles was wrong from the jump.......but on his KR.....PR....pass catching and after the catch average i wouldnt say hes any where near a busted project...he is easily the most talented person on that good offense......when he is on the field defenders HAVE to look after him....without bush saints wouldnt even be in the running for shit.....

we're not talking about careers. dude said right now. three games into the season.
chris johnson is doing well. i would have his name on the list of backs doing good right now. remember right now.
marion barber had two fumbles against gb. nobody is taking that 140 yard performance away from him.

Thats all that matters. The rest of what you typed is irrelevent to the argument.

BTW, his returning ability aint shit. He averaged just over 7 yards in his first year per PR, 4 yards last year, and has only returned 4 punts this year.
i think he can do a lot better if they actually let him do it as much as he should....thier protecting thier investment in reggie........kinda stupid because thats what made his career mostly.....
