If Tech wasn't being recognized by the mainstream with his old sound what makes you think he was going to keep going back to the Anghellic days? There is so much more money to be made in the mainstream stop getting mad at Tech for going after what he deserves. All these years of pleasing the underground fans he has, its time for him to go get the money. Time for someone other than Travis to be able to afford a Lambo or Ferrari. The Anghellic days are gone.
Stop comparing everything Tech does to Anghellic. That album is hella old and would not be cool if it were released today. Eveyone would be complaining like why is Tech using these old ass sounding beats. Everyone on here complains about every release in hopes that the next will end up being Anghellic.

When Tech made Anghellic he had drive, he had something to prove, he was hungry. Because of those reasons, he made an unique album. He made a great album. We don't like Anghellic because it's of the past and we're just nostalgic bitches, we liked it because it was quality
Then you got the Gates Mixed Plate. A complacent album. If there's a word to describe it, it's complacent. And because of that, you got a weak album. It's not weak for the sole reason that it's not Anghellic, it's weak because there's no substance.
Saying that it's about time Tech went for money doesn't change how crappy the CD is. You're just trying to justify it for him.

the great thing about techs music for me has always been its always sounded before its time....when i heard anghellic... it was different than anything else....AP....more advanced..every album has always improved upon the last and always staying ahead of the rest...it wasnt about being dark or light....it was realness....killer began this down flow of crap...granted killer was a good album but it was leaning towards the mainstream and since...its been more and more following what the rest of the industry is doing for sales...look at the over use of auto tune...lyrics have gotten toned down...the whole strange music sound is getting washed over to sound commercial and catchy....and it shows with OGMP....for me this is a complete sell out CD not just for tech but for strange as a company.....
edit: i brought the OGMP to a little pre 4th party.....with the idea of maybe its just me...nope....the party killed this album gave it a listen had a few laughs and now.....ejected.....its garbage

anghellic not good if it was released now? WOW! since anghellic i've been on a non stop search finding music that could top that cd with not much luck. hmm pretty sure trav and tech were on the same level last time i checked but i guess it only makes sense trav get more cus after all he's the creativity that drives strange
is the mainstream going tech or tech going mainstream you decide. but i havent heard tech on the radio everyday and his music sure as fuck sounds like the garbage on the radio including those skits. feels like im really listening to the radio garbage anyway all fingers point at tech going mainstream not the other way.

just got through a quick listen of each song. wasnt feeling too many songs on here. the hooks on a lot of the songs are terrible. Some of tech's verses are starting to get a little repetitive with the subject matter. beats arent really my style either. some pretty good songs, nothing too great, but overall, one word to sum up my feelings would be disappointed.
but its not that bad, all in all its a pretty solid album, best tracks-gamer, harvey dent, keep it one hunit, shit bumps, fuck the haters
I know there isnt a lot of "deep emotional content" on this album...but give me a break. Does Tech have to make a Worst Enemy on every song just to keep heads on here happy?
Truth be told alot of heads wernt feeing Anghellic when it came out. It was classic to us but to others the shit was OUTTTT there. I got it but people was tripping off the cd cover and the fact that the shit went from Hell to Purgatory to Heaven (for one song).
I know that shit was cool for the time but I dont want a full album of that shit. I love a diverse mix of music and thats why I appreciate the Mixed Plate. There is a blend of shit on here. Sure the middle tracks are sex filled booty slappers but they dont require you to be in ya moms basement locked in the closet to listen to this damn cd.
It might not get every party crackin or reinstate your hood pass with the Mixed plate but at leats it shows that Tech can come out and try to have some for for a minute. Plus he put KC on his shoulders yet again. He put a lot of local cats on that wouldnt normally get the mainstream shine that are GOOD (Irv, Riv Loc, Popper ect)
I say let the mixed plate do its thing then lets 6's and 7's be the next Solo album and leave it like that .

And dont pull that "well we buy his album" shit. Damn near everyone on here has the boot of this CD and has there .02 in already. How are calling shots when we arent even contributing to him on this album.
I know all of us have payed for CD's in the past and got merch and shit but let the man do him! If he wants a break from his KOD shit with a light hearted CD then let him do it.
Oh and for as far as "water downed" verses and beats check out Harvey Dent, and Far Out. FAR OUT IS MY SHIT ...yall want some ol school Tech...that shit reminded me of Questions...the best track IMO.
