Mostly I just complain about the old people. In my line of work, banking, it's mostly the old people who don't want to show me any ID when they're making a withdrawl. If I don't know them, I need their ID or I get a policy violation and I could get fired. But their reasoning for fighting with me over ID is that they've been using this particular bank for 70 years, or " I've been with this bank since before you were born.". Like those are valid forms of ID. Now also keep in mind that I am a ROVING teller. So I am a substitute teller that goes to different Wachovia banks in my region. So I hardly ever know ANY customers. Well, I've been called every name under the sun because I still insisted on ID. Yes, I could ask another teller near me if they know my customer, but I've gotten YELLED at for this. But then I got yelled at for low customer service score results ( We have a phone poll that calls random customers during the day from my list of clients I waited on.). And in the notes of my poor results it said the customer was insulted that she was a long time client of the bank and was asked for ID.
People don't realize it's for their protection. They blame me because I am new, and obviously untrained because I asked for ID. I blame them because they're old and stubborn.
