Your beats can get you into the studio with ?uestlove of The Roots if you win The Score, VH1.com's new competition for hip hop producers.

The winner will collaborate with ?uestlove to produce a full-length track for VH1's television broadcast of Hip Hop Honors 2007 and get tickets to the show.

There are only two weeks left to submit your beats, but the competition is fierce -- literally thousands of tracks have been uploaded by the top talent on the web today.

This contest is kind of bunk as far as the way users submit their music.

What happened to just giving producers a mailing address to submit a beat, and leaving people on that way, if they win they get a call or whatever. This way people can upload like 20 beats, yada yada. It's really just spam!

But the contest prize is nice, producing a score for the show period is nice.

LOL. good one. You can add in MAC WE$TERN & CcytzO_Loc as well to that list. My beats will get better. You haven't heard all my beats though. I'm a little reluctant on posting the ones I feel are my best ones, too many people jack ideas. I also have some RnB beats that I haven't posted up that I like a lot.

I don't think your shit will last very long either. It's too gangster and too oldschool sounding. I know you shit is sonically and musically good, but your shit is just too oldschool in vibe. The kids don't care for that style anymore, unfortutely. I'm in the same situation though because I prefer that older style more.


I might send in some beats though, even though I know I won't win. Of course, I will probably get lazy and not even sign up. :lick:

Yeah on the real...I peeped some of the tracks ...alot of are really good. Alot of em sound like ...as you say "Juicy Fruit" tracks. @ The end of the day...it's still a hobby for me and I enjoy making beats when I get a chance. I don't take it to serious...for now anyway.

How is it an unfair advantage. I heard A LOT of shitty stuff on there. Actually most of the shit I heard, was indeed shit. Vince V's shit was the best that I've heard so far. His shit stands out musically and especially sonically.


I would post some shit up for the fuck of it, but that 60 sec shit is wack. Most of my beats build up.

boo boo between me and whoever reads this post...shhhh Im wack...there may be worse but that aint saying much.Now i aint listen to any of the contestants,and maybe not too many people know of the competition,but there are so may gifted producers all over....not all of em are even on no internet shit.

thanks for the props everyone. with all the cheesy beats on the site, we'll see how it pans out. Sometimes I think they already got people picked out for shit like this and do these kinds of things only for promotion and more traffic to the site.

i got local rappers who pay me and use my beats not too many of yall can say that so im satisfied with what im doing for now.....
