Not yet, but I'm aware that the 360 Dpad is a piece of shit.

My original comment wasn't even directed at any one specifically, I was just putting it out there.
I understand it wasn't directed at anyone in particular, and I know you're giving the heads up before anyone shells out money. I know $100+ is a lot to spend on a peripheral, but I like this game and there is no way I can play it with the 360 controller. Before this game my 360 dpad was tight. Now it's all loose, and I've only had the game for what a week now?

I started off playing with a stick. The learning curve for these sticks are not that steep
not for somebody that has been using a d-pad all their lives.everybody that comes over my house and wants to use my stick is horrible when they first use it. especially with characters like hugo and gief that require 360s,forget about it. they also have problems with newer games that had shortcut keys on the shoulder buttons. like marvel vs capcom and SF:third strike. they never even knew you had to do button combinations for certain things,to them it was just R2 is throw, not LP+LK,etc.

Me personally, I started off with a stick playing the arcades. But as soon as they made SF2 for SNES, you had to adjust to the d pad, and I just learned how to master it. Now I play like shit with a stick.
If you a button masher you will fuck up your dpad tho. imo. OR if you play Sf 5 hours a day. my brother plays SF 5 hours a day on his PS2 and he fucked up his controllers lol actually the bastard fucked up mine! Then got new ones!

i have been looking up some tier lists. this isnt an in depth one with head to head numbers or anything but gives you an idea

sagat is alone in the god tier, followed by ryu and gief in the high tier. all the rest go from mid to low. vega and el fuerte are in the crap tier

1) Sagat
2) Ryu
3) Zangief
4) M. Bison/Balrog/Akuma
5) Chun Li
6) Blanka/Rufus
7) C. Viper
8) Ken
9) Dhalsim
10) Abel
11) Guile
12) E. Honda
13) El Fuerte
14) Vega

this is based on the arcade version. every list i have seen is extemely similiar, especially the god and high tier. some people put bison in high tier, thats really the only difference i have seen

i guess after ken being god tier in third strike they really toned him down

I was talking about for me and not those who weren't used to it.

my abel and gouken are getting pretty decent. i can handle most fireball spams with no problem now with the either of them. with abel's roll and goukens dragon punch and forward flip, projectiles are a non factor. i actually want them

got tested pretty good when i got into a player match with some guy who used nothing but sagat. i cant roll under the low tigers with abel but found gouken to be extremely effective against sagat. he is a big target for goukens rising hurricane kick. i think we split the matches 4-4 or something. that was a victory for me cause sagat uses owns me.

now i just got to learn to do with zangief's bitch ass...he is ridiculous in this game

I dont know what this list means. Can you explain?
Its taken from data from tournaments. More importantly win/loss records of each characters. Through researching each character's win/loss against ever other character they can determine who the higher tired (more dominant) characters are.

They get a number out of 10 for each character. That number repersents how many times out of 10 matches that character will win. Lets say sagat has a 6 against bison, that means they project sagat will win 6/10 matches. Add all those numbers up against each character and you get an overall number. That number determines what tier the character is in.

Look at the link i posted to the full chart and it should make more sense givin this info.
