okay, i bet you if you if you would have asked bruce lee he would tell you differently, had what my be the best physique ever. i have studied numerous styles of martial arts, there is nothing wrong with lifting weights as long as you don't get as big as arnold and shit.
Ok I agree to an extent.
You can lift weights and you won't get all big and shit as long as you go easy on it.
A lot of martial artists lift weights, but boxing trainers won't let you do it.
More push ups and sit ups is a better alternative, it's not like you can over do it. Boxers have the best stamina in the world, and boxing has been around for many years as a profession.
These martial artists will one day reach to the same conclusion that boxing trainers have.

I just seen far too many times from boxers and martial artists.
They tire down becuase of the excess muscle. They really feel it in the later rounds when those muscles start feeling very heavy.

How is it one of tha weakest forms of fighting?
ask any other practioner of a martial art or any other fighting style. boxers only use their hands, if you de-mobilize their hands, their fucked, if you break one of their legs, their fucked, if you dislocate their shoulder, their fucked, if you break their wrist, their fucked.......GET IT? it only takes but a couple of moves to accomplish one of the extremely painful things i just mentioned, that's why it's one of the weakest forms. what good is boxing when a wrestler has you on your back in a choke hold?

it doesn't really matter anyways, boxing is one of the weakest forms of fighting. truth be told
Now days, no form of fighting is better than the other.
You need to have 2 or 3 styles all together.

But I tell you one thing, in what other forms of fighting do you have to register your fists as deadly weapons?
There is a reason for that, a professional boxer could kill you in a matter of seconds out in the street.
A good boxer would beat any martial artist on his feet.
All that kick boxing and Kung Fu only works in movies.
Your crazy to think that feet are faster than fists.
I whooped many many martial artists in my days, all you have to do is get inside their range and it's game over.
They're not used to being hit in the jaw, one punch usually takes them out.

But now you have these Jui Jitsu guys who are quick to take you to the ground. Those fuckers own ground fighting....

Guns?
If you're gonna bring guns then you might as well call it a war LOL! It ain't fighting anymore.

But Yeah, Bruce Lee was very good.
Now remember Bruce Lee's fighting style, Jeet Kun Do.
Which translates to the Art of the Intersepting Fist.
Bruce Lee knew that the fists are far faster than feet. So he made his own style where you can counter anything with your fists at high speeds. He was also a Kung Fu grand master, so it ain't like Jeet Kun Do is all fists.
They do a bit of kicking too.
You guys ever heard of that one Kung Fu Grand Master from Frisco who whooped his ass though?
At least that's what the guy claims.
In Dragon, The Bruce Lee Story (movie) Lee gets his ass whooped by this guy because he had a bad back.
There's always 2 sides to each story.

bruce lee was very good is an understatment. there were many elements that added to jeet kun do to make it the ecclectic style that it is. that is the primary style i use in fighting. if you studied it, you would know that bruce lee taught, that your longest range weapon is your leg/foot. if you can break your oppenent down with kicks, they will never be close enough to touch you with their fists. believe me, i know what i am talking about. most movies are show, but he exemplified jeet kun do in his movies more than you know. he took western chinese boxing, kickboxing, grappling, wing chun, and even fencing to get the style we know as jeet kun do. if you studied more on jeet kun do, you would understand that boxing is way down the list homie. i don't like the ufc shit, but that was the whole point of the contest, to prove which styles are better. there is no way a boxer would beat any one of the competetors.

also remember, you may have beat many a martial artists ass, just like anything else, just because you know elements from the style, doesn't make you a good fighter. evander holyfield would mobb on some black belts i know, and frankly, i would beat the shit out of some black belts i know and i have never taken classes. boxing sucks homie in comparison, and by the way, anyone who is a black belt is considered a lethal weapon, so big whoop if a boxers fists are deadly weapons. a black belt can actually get in trouble for beating someone senseless if it's proven it was un necessary, even if they were attacked

I never heard of a Black Belt's need to register.
Remember, a black belt doesn't define your fighting ability.
A newbie can easily whoop a black belt, so it's on the indivdual.

I understand Bruce Lee knew his shit (you need to find info on that dude who beat him up pretty bad though). Unlike other Martial artists, Lee actually used martial arts for fighting.
There's all these martial arts but none of them concentrate on the fight itself. Look at their tournaments, it's safety first.
That's why you see it all the time in mixed martial art tournaments, the black belt guy always gets his assed kicked.
They can't take a blow.
You can teach a person how to kick or punch but you can't teach him how to fight while taking punishment.
You wanna last in MMA tournaments? You need to have a mixed background in fighting techniques as well. You need to know how to grapple on the ground, and how to fight on your feet.
Look at the most successful MMA fighters out there, they can do it all. But I see where there's pleanty of room for improvement.
I've yet to see anyone who can box. Yeah some throw a few punches here and there but it's all haymakers. You teach a wrestler how to box and he'll be unbeatable, let alone you teach him how to kick.
I've yet to see any good pure stand up martial artist have success in MMA. So far, Corcop from Pride is doing well. He was a K1 kick boxer and has adapted well to avoiding take downs.

I'd love to see a pro boxer hit the scene or a Kung Fu Master for that matter. But they'll have to learn how to grapple if they want to succeed.

Chris, where do you train?
I used to train with Eddie Croft for boxing.
Then I trained at the Gladiators gym with my boy Eugene Jackson for Jui Jitsu. I wanna take up Kung Fu or some shit but there isn't much to choose from here in the West Bay.

i live in new york now, there are some places, but they are way too expensive for me. i haven't done any training in awhile, my shoulder is fucked up at the time, but believe it or not, i never took classes, i read everything i could get my hands on though, you may laugh at that, but i understand the shit better than alot of black belt instructors i have talked to. that's why i dont' take classes, because after talking to them, i realize i don't want to learn what they have to offer. i was gonna take some classes just to spar here recently, but i fucked up my shoulder again. there are places in the bay, you have to look, and alot of them are word of mouth. kung fu takes a long time to learn though, you have to have patience. but i believe that is the best things you can learn, it is very complete.....top to bottom, the rest have strong points, but kung fu is complete in my eyes, but why would a boxer want to learn a soft style? your realize that alot of kung fu doesn't use fists to hit right? research it more if you haven't already. when i get back to cali, i am gonna take some classes. i would like to train wit dan inosanto in l.a. he was bruce lee's right hand man and he offers what is likely the best jeet kun do school around, if anything else, i would like to meet the man.
