Freedom has come at a price, however. The duo must forfeit the rights and royalties from their first two albums with Strange Music, 2004's Urban Legendz and 2008's Word on tha Streets. Starting over in the rap game at 30 will be tough, but the duo is undaunted.
I think thats messed up if they have to surrender their royalties for that.. They have a 2 album contract and should ge all royalties from those 2 albums even if they depart and release a 3rd album somewhere else..

Talk to Sawyer(rmillerspacers31). He lives in the area, and is good for the exchange.

Business runs the game... or at least it did with the rise of independents and distribution houses from major labels this is how good music is taking ovre the industry and just because its a new day for Strange and a new day for SS dosent mean either music is better their just different. And like tech says he stands by their music 110% and if he had not believed in them he wouldnt have signed them, there are alot of other artists in KC during that time he could have signed but Strange choose them, amd just because Tech's fans are young and white may conclude to why they can not appricate the realness of what the streets are about. But with it all they are boys and they are Family so support the music you love and respect and I know for me its both of them!

I'm SO excited for SS!!! Got the chance to do what THEY WANT!

As far as people saying that their fan base is because of Strange has no idea what they're talking about.

Also whoever said KC MO has no business "swag", do some research before you run off at the mouth because theres KC rappers REALLY makin bread...look at rich the factor. Like he dont make money?

The marriage of Tech N9ne's painted persona with Skatterman and Snug Brim's true-crime gangsta swagger had been an odd fit from the start. The duo released two albums and rocked more than 300 stages on tour with Strange Music, but it was getting chilly in Tech's shadow.
Who are they going to blame when they fail on their own?

Skatter and Snug (born Stacy Landis and Aaron Henderson, respectively)
Ha.

Skatter and Snug have also started recording songs for their upcoming mixtape, This Is Kansas City Volume 1, hosted by DJ Spinstyles. The title is a jab at Tech N9ne's fame. Skatter and Snug want to make it clear, for out-of-towners who associate Kansas City with Tech, that KC's hip-hop scene is much bigger than one rapper.
This makes me feel bad for you kats in KC. Do you really want S&S to represent your town? Do you know anybody who does?

Freedom has come at a price, however. The duo must forfeit the rights and royalties from their first two albums with Strange Music, 2004's Urban Legendz and 2008's Word on tha Streets.
LoL. Really? Wow. Epic fail.

Travis probably dried off the Maybach with all the singles that he made off of SS. It was like... 250 worth of profit on those two albums right? They got a good deal if you ask me.

"Like, still on the corner with a rag in my pocket, gangbanging," Skatterman says. They laugh.
That's the way you play yourself off on the internet, too.

"That's why I think we're gonna be in this game for a minute because poverty is never over," Snug says. "There's always going to be poverty, and we've been through that our whole life, so we'll never get tired of hearing that. It's always going to be relevant."
And why not take 15 bucks off of the poverty stricken? That's a weeks worth of baby food, but fuck 'em. The babies would rather hear S&S and be hungry, than not hear S&S at all. It helps them with constipation.

Though the pair says it's "all love," some saltiness remains after the split with Tech. They note how they invited Tech onstage when they opened for Ice Cube at the VooDoo Lounge last fall, even after they were left out of Tech's performance in front of a crowd of 3,000 at Capitol Federal Park at Sandstone last summer.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

The plan is to jog their fans' memories by offering This Is Kansas City for free when it comes out March 15 — 100,000 copies of the CD will be available at 7th Heaven, Streetside and at some area Best Buys. An MP3 version will be downloadable at myspace.com/skatterandsnug and at biggshot.com. After a quick tour in March and April, they'll get back to the studio in May to record Perseverance, a full-length album scheduled for release September 1.
That's awesome! They're making it a hell of a lot easier to not pay for their album like I did for their past 2 releases! Can they possibly make it even easier for me to not listen to it also?

mixtape sounds like its gonna be the shit
Does Snug's dick taste salty?

makes me think if the business side is foul, im sure there is a reason for lack of promo
Yeah... Strange knew SS was weak as fuck and didn't want to put the cash out to promo an album that was going to fail. I bet SS albums only brought in enough cash to cover the Urban Legends flats and vinyls that were all over the fuckin' place.

I have 2 copies of that "Mo whiskey, Mo weed" single on vinyl. What does that tell you?

i just hope this doesnt trickle down to krizz and kutt
If it does, it's not because they suck... like with SS.

im sure there is a reason for lack of promo such as did SS choose to bank the promo money and let it fly. they had a budget and possibly chose to do other things with the cash then tons of promo
I'm no fucking CEO here, but I'm pretty sure that if you have a "budget" for a record... You can't just go ahead and not buy beats or pay for promo and pocket the cash yourself. But like I said I'm no expert

Strange Music paid for their studio time, made sure they were taken care of, and I bet even bought the notepads and pens they wrote their rhymes on. You sign that contract and you know for a fact you won't get shit if you leave the label. They made that decision, and they're dealing with it.
Do they pay you to be the defender of the Strange Music universe? I didn't realize you had gotten into the PR business.

And that family shit they're talking about is true. I don't think I've seen many men love their kids as much as Snug does. I can't speak for Scatterman cuz I don't know him.
Someone give him a fuckin' ribbon! Snug Brim doesn't neglect his children!

the KC promo that SS had for Word On The Streets they had to pay for out of pocket.
Sad. Really... That's fucking sad. Even shitty artists deserve backing from their labels.

I cant wait for the new shit they got
I can't wait for someone to kill you randomly at a McDonalds one day.
