Schmidt is probably the hottest pitcher in the majors right now including games from the end of last season. Personally I think he is one of the top 5 pitchers in the majors. You can hate and say otherwise, but can you prove he isn't? Mark another win in the books for the NL champs and soon to be world champs.

Mcleanhatch: Do you still think Ortiz is better then Schmidt? Are you starting to believe or is he going to have to win the Cy Young..

3 Hit Completele game Shutout. Solid game by one the NL's top pitchers.

it is possible for schmidt to in the future be better than Ortiz i guess. but Ortiz is a proven comodity, while Schmidt has had 1 good season (note: i said 1 GOOD season) not a great 1.

and ya he probly will have to win a CY young first. and that will be hard to do with

1. Randy Johnson
2. curt Schilling
3. mark Prior
4. greg maddox

stil alive and pounding out CY Young caliber or "great Seasons" as opposed to "good Season" year in and year out

Mark Prior?! Im sorry I just don't see it. You talk about consecutive successful seasons.. this guy is 22 years old in only his second season. His first year he didn't even have a winning record. Its not the fact that you put him as a player to contend for the Cy Yound award, its that you left Wood out? Not only is Wood a better pitcher then Prior will ever be, but he is one of the best young pitchers in the majors right now. He has fought through a bad injury but he has some great stuff. I think the best pitchers right now in the majors are...

1. Randy Johnson
2. Greg Maddux
3. Kerry Wood
4. Curt Schilling
5. Jason Schmidt
6. Tom Glavine

I know alot of people won't agree with me on Wood but you will see, mark my words. He is a fucking strike-out machine at the mound and he hits homeruns.. imagine that. What do you think about wood?
