Considering that Leonard fought mostly at welterweight its hard to compare him against Jones, thats the first thing. And if you look at Jones accomplishments, he has already done more than enough to go down in history as one of the best. The one thing he lacks is that classic battle that Leonard,Duran,Hearns,Hagler,Cuevas,Robinson,Lamotta,Chavez,Whittaker all had. His toughest fight and loss he avenged in a crushing KO. The Hopkins fight was almost 10 years ago now, and he fought it with one arm. I am not a huge Jones fan, but you cant take anything away from him or what he has already done in his career. He makes all the other fighters look ordinary.

^Don't listen to this idiot. He don't know what he's talking about! Roy Jones would take care of all of them! Leonard maybe be a harder challenge but Roy would take all of them out!

At Leonards best 147.
Jones at his best 168.
= Jones with an easy win.
At that level of comp 20 pounds means the world. Thats why Jones will become legendary if he beats Ruiz. You gotta remember about Leonard, that he lost outright to Duran in his prime, and his win against Hagler was very controversial. But wins against Hearns,Benetez,Kalule, and the Hagler fight are enough to cement his place as one of the best welterweights ever. If you want to compare Roy with one of the old timers a better comparison is with Bob Foster or Dick Tiger.

U act like Duran aint a great fighter!! Back then boxin was tight, cause there were sevaral great boxers, but now there is like 1 or 2 in each class thats good!! Boxin was way better before, and Im sure Jones would have lost a fight to one of those guys if not more!! But again we can debate over & over but we will never know and Leonard was the gretaest welterweight period!! GOT EM!!!

They just jockin him cause aint to many good boxers to jock!! Boxin is watered down now!! he cant beat none of the old timers that were tight and he will lose to Ruiz unless its fixed like boxin is alot which is a shame!! GOT EM!!!

it would be a great fight.

speed advantage----> jones (barely)

skills advantage ----> leonard (barely)

power advantage---> leonard (at a smaller weight jones at a higher weight)

close fight, in fact to close to call, if i had to pick i would go with leonard simply because he has been through some battles and has been proven to be game as opposed to jones whom i have never seen get hit hard

i really dont think it would even be close i've seen them both fight and i know for a fact roy jones jr would beat the shit outta little ass sugar ray leonard!!!!
