I know what you're saying. It's like people are systematically forced into a box...and then those same people who forced them in the box want to come and take the box away. Under the current system, it is important to defend this form of "socialism" because the system has engineered things to be this way.

My personal problem is with the system...the engineering can never have just results for everyone. That "box" is always going to exist as long as the government controls every aspect of our lives...and typically, it will be minorities disproportionately being herded into the box.

IMO, Libertarian principles applied to representative democracy with limited government are our ONLY chance at completely engineering our own system. I think we're capable of doing it.
i see what your saying on certain points, but if theirs no security blanket for the most disadvantaged in society in a capitalist system, then theirs gonna be mass homelessness and a lot more deaths due to poverty, it would be survival of the fittest, worser than it is now, the US & the UK goverment spend millions & billions on imperialist wars that only benefit large multi nationals and a handful of individuals in goverments, they spend billions in military aid to country's like israel & egypt, annualy, witout fail, just so those goverments & militarys can oppress there people or heads in other places, billions & trillions is spent on there local millitary budget on renewing nukes and all types of other weapons, annualy witout fail aswell, they could easily handle having and maintaining social housing for the most vunerable in society and having a welfare state for heads that fuck up in life and need help getting back on there feet, you see what i'm saying fam

THIS THREAD IS SPECULATIVE AT BEST...YOU GUYS SERIOUSLY THINK HE'S GONNA HAVE A SHOT AT BEING VOTED IN?
Hes got no shot of winning at all but he is waking people up about a lot of different issues I mean just take Iran, no one on here can tell me factually that Iran is a threat to anybody but everyone on the presidential election stage minus RP acts like Iran is more powerful than Soviet Russia in the Cold War

I think Ron Paul can empower us to save our republic. I think humans can save humanity.
No offense, but i don't think you understand exactly how humans work/think. And no, im not trying to be condescending, im just making an observation.

Besides that point, there is nothing conclusive to prove your point...you only "think", and that is where the issue lies. How many times do we have to hear a candidate say a bunch of shit during the elections, get voted in, only to overall disappoint everyone once its all said and done? Its a candidate's JOB to sell themselves to YOU. And you only have to BUY into it... that's how it works, nothing more nothing less. Its no different than a used car salesman or a pimp. They are running their best game on the people, and see who can get the most to follow their word.

Now, the one corner of this that is hilarious, is what happens when Paul DOESN'T win, Obama stays, and all those who WANTED Paul, will merely say "Paul would have done ____ and ____" when Obama once AGAIN disappoints everyone? It happens EVERY year...you don't think political parties KNOW this? Its always an ways cop-out to say the grass is greener on the other side...especially if that grass is in a locked building with no way of seeing what it actually LOOKS like. The human brain is "easily influenced" in that sense, as its a way of proving a point, without having a shred of evidence to back it up.

I ALSO find it funny when people who want to elect Paul call those who follow OTHER candidates "sheep". Newsflash: you are showing the SAME behavior they are...so cut the crap. The bottom line is, the political system is so beyond fucked up, that there is LITERALLY, no resetting it, saved for an apocalyptic event occurring and we lose a majority of the population and we have to LITERALLY start over. And guess what? Over time, we will do the SAME shit we did before, and the same OUTCOME will most likely occur. Humans are self involved and self destructive, its right in front of our eyes every single day we exist. Sorry, but you cant change human nature. We haven't changed in 10,000 years. The world AROUND us has, but we are still "wired" the exact same way.

IT'S ALL PROPAGANDA LIKE USUAL...I DONT TRUST ANY POLITICIAN OR PARTY...RON PAUL SOUNDS GOOD ON PAPER BUT THEN AGAIN SO DID OBAMA...AT THIS POINT THE ONLY WAY PEOPLE ARE GONNA WAKE UP AND TAKE ACTION...IS WHEN THIS COUNTRY CRASH AND BURNS, THEN RE-BUILDS...BUT EVEN THEN THERE'S NO GUARANTEE WE WILL HAVE LEARNED ANYTHING...

OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS HAVE BEEN STRIPPED BAD...AT THIS POINT THIS NATION IS JUST A SHELL OF WHAT THE FOREFATHERS CREATED.

Two things to point out:

1. The rebuilding after the crash-and-burn is not always possible and even if it is, it doesn't always happen within the lifetime of those witnessing it. Therefore don't count on it

2. The forefathers never intended a free society - it was a lot of nice language and indeed some of the real rights that were put in the constitution and the first several ammedndments are being eroded right now. But their goal was to create a stable society that will peppetuate the existing social order while making the minimal possible concessions to the masses. It is indeed a testament to how wise they were that the system has worked for so long, but do not believe the myth-makign machine when it comes to their true intentions.

I still cant believe how many Liberals thought that Obama was Martin Luther King or Superman or the bi racial messiah or whatever but I understand your point I would just argue that when you have someone like Ron Paul who is so consistent that I put him in a separate category all together, if you really look at Obamas short time in politics he sat out alot of votes to create the idea that he wasnt a mainstream candidate but his vote would of been mainstream, example being a bill that was passed labeling Irans Revlotionary Guard a terrorist entity and therefore we were able to attack them through barring them from using lots of financial intermediaries, Clinton voted for it, Obama sat it out, used it against Clinton but his record shows he woulda prolly voted for it

The ultimate decider of the next leader of the free world is the economy I think no incumbent president has ever been not re elected when the economy is in a up swing feel free to fact check that but its close

I DONT COUNT ON THIS NATION EVER BEING THE SAME AGAIN...AT LEAST NOT IN MY LIFETIME OR EVEN MY KIDS...THE IGNORANCE IS TOO DEEPLY EMBEDDED...

THE ONE THING THE FOREFATHERS DID SAY THAT MADE TONS OF SENSE...WAS THAT IN ORDER FOR A GOVERNMENT TO BE KEPT HONEST...THERE NEEDS TO BE A REVOLUTION EVERY TWENTY YEARS!!! OBVIOUSLY THEY DIDNT FORESEE THE FUTURE...
BUT THEY KNEW CORRUPTION WAS INEVIATABLE (SP) AS IS WITH ANY POWER...

HENCE THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS AND THE OTHER AMENDMENTS...WHICH HAS BEEN SOLD TO US SINCE KINDERGARTEN...

WE ARE LONG OVERDUE FOR A CHANGE OF POWER...

I think it is a testament to Ron Paul's "terribleness" that you can get people with such varying ideological, socio-economic, political perspectives as ThaG, Mac Jesus, I Pukokeki Ioulo Momu, Mike Manson, White Devil, and myself all agreeing that he is so fucking bad.

That should be enough for any long time posters in this forum to at least take a minute to stop and re-evaluate this guy. There is obviously something wrong with him that people who always find something to disagree over are so unanimous in their disdain for someone.
