i wonder if this radio personality has called out all the black folks that blindly follow people like young jeezy and rick ross as role models, or other factors that are MUCH more serious and detrimental to the black community. probably not because cowardly hipocrisy and anti-white bigotry is so much easier and tolerable to practice.

i dont use the word and v-nasty is a fucking dumb bitch but i lol @ clowns like this who are mad at a symptom of the problem instead of the problem itself. THE BLACK COMMUNITY.
Dude you REALLY got it it twisted. The poor state of affairs in the Black Community didn't just rise up out of nowhere! We didn't just wake up one day and start callin' ourselves N*ggas. How you gonna blame this shit on the black community? Our sometimes backwards behavior a direct result of years of slavery and racism. Are you telling me that you see no correlation? You need to get an education on cause and effect.

You wonder why so many black folks blindly follow young jeezy and rick ross as role models? It's because for so long musicians and entertainers are the only role models we were allowed to have. I understand that we have a Black President in office as a role model now, but that type of mentality wasn't born in just a couple of years and it won't be defeated in a couple of years. Hell, most of us didn't expect to see a Black President in our lifetime. You're talking about a community notoriously devoid of father figures to to teach us better. Have you ever asked yourself why that is? Maybe because when we were slaves Massa decided that he didn't care if we maintained a family unit so he decided he would ship his big buck N*ggas around and breed them with whomever he chose so he could create some Bigger and Bucker N*ggas to work his fields. Our families be Damned. This practice went on for hundreds of years. Like so many other things we began to accept this behavior as normal and thus we find ourselves in the predicament were in today.

And what of the masses of our men who are either dead or in jail (do I even need to school you on how that situation came about?).Ya know, I just read this entire thread and I'm really starting to see that this N*gga shit is where we need to draw the line. I mean, did I really see someone say that other places in the US were not as "Evolved" as The Bay because they don't let non-blacks use the the word N*GGA????? Have you lost your f*cking minds???!!

Right on for the insight, that makes so much sense.

It is about respect and these 90's and 2k babies have none, fuck even some of us 70's and 80's babies too.

This is a leftover mentality from the Civil Rights movement that is no more true for black people at this point than it is for white people.

Who you're actually referencing when you say the "black community" is poor inner city working class blacks... they share FAR more in common at this point with broke whites from a societal standpoint than they do with rich blacks. Both were screwed over by the collapse of American industry in the 70's and both constitute the most uneducated and impoverished groups in America.

However, the only fundamental difference that still ties rich and poor blacks closer together is that whites are never seen as a collective group... they're seen as individuals. What this really means is that rich white people are never tarnished by the stereotypes about broke white people when they go to a job interview/apply for a college/ apply for a loan whereas blacks of any background are associated with being poor/uneducated/thugs just because they're black. White people even have a pejorative for broke white people... words like "rednecks" and "white trash" were invented by white people. Why would white people come up with a word that offends their own? I'll tell you why: It allows them to say that rednecks are a separate group of people altogether and are in fact the exception and not the rule, which is also true of broke uneducated black people. The black poverty rate is below 25%... in other words, about 30 of the 40 million blacks in the US are not in poverty. How many people do you honestly think would believe that if you told them that?

The majority of the disbelief comes from this idea of a monolithic black community which has not truly existed since America became integrated and wealthy college-educated black people deserted the inner cities. Why do you think the black panthers hated the black bourgeoisie as much as they hated the white bourgeoisie? They represented the same thing... they didn't give enough of a fuck about poor blacks to help bring them out of the 19th century financial slavery and into the integrated 20th century America. The ghettos are still majority black for a reason... if poor blacks had been able to follow the pattern of poor white immigrants - i.e. wealthy blacks gained positions of power and created a ladder for the less fortunate blacks to climb - than our ghettos would be almost exclusively Hispanic at this point. The reasons for why the position of poor blacks in America has barely evolved in 50 years would need another 5 paragraphs to explain... going back to your question about the use of "nigger" though, you should notice that there's a FAR different view of the word among the black bourgeoisie vs. the black proletariat (working class)... the modern history of the "black community" you reference has been class warfare for about 30 years and running now. The black community has effectively been split into two groups - the haves and have nots - with an unacknowledged middle class being caught in the crossfire.

No... we didn't just say the same thing. I do agree that it starts in the black community... Why else would I waste my valuable time trying to enlighten, not only my Black Brothers and Sisters, but also my Non-Black Brothers and Sisters, on a chat thread at 2AM in the morning?

The thing that just absolutely eludes me is why so many of you Non-Blacks refuse to let go of the word. I mean, seeing this thread, it's like many of you are like clutching on to it, kickin' and screamin' like it has to be pried for your dead hands, before you'll let it go.

Get it right, I am not here to generalize all Non-Blacks and put you all in the same bucket. Just as there are blacks who USE the word there are Non-blacks who USE the word. Just as there are Blacks who REFUSE to use the word there are Non-Blacks who REFUSE to use the word... The question is... who are YOU as a person? Don't hide behind arguments of hypocrisy. Be a man/woman and take a stand. Fuck what everyone else is doing. What is it that you are doing? Have some integrity...

To be honest with you I really am not the type of person who wants to stop anyone from doing anything they want to do. Whatever floats your boat is fine with me. What pisses ME off is when people try to justify something that they know is dead ass wrong, for no good reason, and then try to hide behind bullshit because they don't have the balls to stand behind their actions, all alone and standing on their own two feet...

For the last time, I ain't mad at Kreayshawn or V-Nasty... I honestly believe they had good intentions. If they were smart they'd realize the opportunity before them, and put as much distance between themselves and that word as they can. They are about to lose all that they've worked for over something that they now know is pure poison to their careers. And why? THAT is the question. What is it that that word represents to them that they are willing to give up everything for it? They BOTH say it. One has admitted it and the other doesn't need to because it's every other word out of her mouth... You don't have to be rapping for the word to have significance...

Im not justifying the use of the word at all. I'm not sure if youre saying thats what i was implying. In fact I stated earlier nobody should be using it, especially the ones claiming that its an insult to them when used by other people. Great posts by both you and fruitvale though. Props due. My point about the radio personality was I don't see how certain people get worked up about these white girls and at the same glorify and peddle these ignorant stereotypes of black people at the same time as if they are any better.

V-Nasty is horrible, kreayshawn wants a career then she should distance herself from that idiot. She makes white people look hella bad, growing up in the hood is no excuse for straight ignorance, and somebody made her think its cool, that is also not ok, it is not cool to be an ignorant fool. Where i grew up somebody white or black would of beat her face off ten times by now. When are these morons gonna stop giving the bay a silly image? There is so much music and style out here that is not that bullshit. Not just the use of the word, but the straight ignorance that she displays is disgusting, somebody please knock this bitch the fuck out, and since you so on lil bitch get that fucked up shovel tooth fixed, its only a couple bucks baller.
