Well it also comes down to the respect you have for your hood or your cause. Understand North and South arent fighting over colors or turf... it gets deeper then all that. See most Northerners see scraps on the same level as snitches or even child molesters, not saying they all snitch or are all child molesters but nortenos see them on the same level. now a nortenos hood is his family, and just like any real man wouldnt bring a child molester to his house to his family, is the same as y any norteno wouldnt bring a sureno to kick it with or be around his hood or homies. On these streets in northern cali, too many surenos or people calimeing sur have shown not to respect the "G" code, by snitching, shooting at lil kids and so on. Not saying that nortenos dont do things like that but more often then not once a norteno snitches he is no longer a norteno, while surenos still continue to bang and snitch. I understand that L.A. is differnt but if all we know is surenos in northern cali doing these things then of course we assume all of them to be like that. Understand most nortenos have no respect for surenos.
Now as far as the music goes, I know Tokstero had a deal with priority records back in 98 i believe, and they wanted him to work with kid frost and a couple other southern rappers...he told the they could fuck them selves... so there you go. And money doesnt change a thing, if a person can compromise his/her way of life, his beliefs, his pride his loved ones for money, then theirs no telling what a person would do for money...maybe snitch? maybe suck dick I dunno, but thats not the kinda person I want in my circle.

Cause if this same question was posted on a Sur Rap board they would probably say that the Nortenos are snitches, levas, and bitches too. To be honest, I have seen bitch made cats on both sides, I have seen solid riders on both sides. The most solid of the Nortenos and Surenos I have nmet in my life were all on a respect trip. They didnt sit around saying scrapa this, scrapa that, and the Sur didnt waste time with buster this chapete that. They was just stand up ass muthafuccas that believed in they lifestyle. Now when the shit went down, it was known what side they were on, and they put it down to the fullest, no ifs, ands, or buts. As far as drop-outs are concerned. They are on every side. LOL the drop-outs sometimes be thinkn they the hardest muthafuccas tho!!
As far as Tokestero. That was a label wantin him to work with Sureno rappers. Now if you some hardcore Norteno, yes, that would be a no-no. Just on image alone. I'm speaking of the people that are behind the scenes that my have ties to Sur. Promoters, agents, A & R, Label reps, shit ..drivers...
Promoter (with x3 tat behind his ear, but is in a 3 piece suit, and dont give off any "gang vibes" except for that what looks to be old ass tattoo behind his ear)
He books Tokestero for a club performance in Visalia. 4 songs, and they payin Toke $3,200 for the appearance as well as his transpo, hotel room, and misc. expenses paid for by the company.
This is just one of many shows that he has lined up for Toke in Cali, AZ, NM, TX, all of which are paying $3,500 or better. He even gets him a spot on the Summer Jam/Splash/Explosion with Snoop, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Keyshia Cole, and LOL Soulja Boy.

There's no such thing as giving a random surenos a hood pass in a well known norteno hood unless he's a family member, if he ain't a family member. I'm 100% positive he will get his head stomped and copied to the concrete.
Nortenos & Surenos can't have "hood politic meetings", that has never happened and never will. So comparing a norteno & sureno cause to bloods & crips should be dismissed all the way.
I seen them surenos in Santa Cruz have no respect for the G-Code, 8 years ago I was out there with my boy and some females. A homeboy out of Salinas was about to get jumped in front of his kids and his wife, me and my boy got in the mix and told them scraps that we can make the fight even. Even tho it was 8 of them vs 3 of us, like the older homies taught me in the past, it's quality over quantity. We got into it and stomped 4-5 of them and the other punks took off running...
Next you know all of 3 of us were in handcuffs, but thanks to some people that watched the whole thing. They told the cops we weren't the instigators at all...
I have never seen a norteno go off on surenos that were hanging out with their families doing they thing and the day I do see it, I will give the homies a piece of my mind about that shit...
