lmao how come people who support shit like this find it impossible to have a proper debate. they just yell over the top of other arguments.
Yeah they do, ignorance. A lot of these protesters lack facts to back up their arguments. However, I do agree the financial system is fucked up and unfair. I do also agree with the other side though, why punish or attack success?

I think if their going to be successful, these protesters have to get rid of the whole "Occupy" slogan. It sounds aggressive/forceful and gives law enforcement more of a reason to call it trespassing.

Also, their image lacks credibility. I took a walk by the Downtown San Diego occupation a few weeks ago and it was a bunch of dirty fucks. No one is going to give a rats ass what they think. Their simply playing into the stereotype of being hippies, anarchists, whatever anti-societal shit you want to call it.

This is my main concern with the whole movement. What is the point? Do people think everything should be fair and we should move to a more socialist environment so nobody is "left behind"? Are they attacking the corporate greed that pays minimum wage to employees and gives executives millions of dollars?

The latter I can agree with, the former I can't. At the same time, I can't hate any man for making money. I know if I want to be there, I have to step my game up. Why should I take what somebody else worked for? If I go out and shoot a deer for dinner, is my neighbor entitled to some of it? Or is it his responsibility to go catch his own food?

Yes, on top of several other things such as extremely HIGH tuition for secondary education.

My mom paid a total of just over $2000 for 4 years of college back in the 60's (Purdue). I am now in debt $48000 for 4 years in college in 2011 (Phoenix). By the time i am done paying, i will have paid nearly 2X the amount in interest if i only pay the minimum.

Tuition has increased at both UW and WSU SUBSTANTIALLY in the last year, and will only RISE the start of next year.

Well yeah the whole education system is fucked up too.

I think they need to get rid of general ed and all prerequisite bullshit classes that don't pertain to your major. That's extra shit that they make a profit on. Why can't we just go straight into college and study what we want to study without taking the other unnecessary BS courses? Fuck your paying for it, why not?

theres many underlying issues that make those fees go up. funding goes through the system and gets filtered untill, well, your payin more for education. the education system is full of crooks and unions that end up making you pay more to better your self.

Occupy Oakland and Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), an organisation of which Olsen is a member, put out a call for solidarity vigils on Thursday morning.

The Oakland vigil will be held at 7pm during the general assembly at Occupy Oakland.

A statement from IVAW said the vigil was being held to "hold Scott in their thoughts, to honor his commitment to social justice and to hope for his strong recovery."

It read: "Scott is one of an increasing number of war veterans who are participating in America's growing Occupy movement."

"Oakland has been a public forum, set up on public land, concerned with critical public issues about the nation's financial crisis, consolidation of wealth and power, and the ability of citizens to meaningfully participate in the democratic process. The brutality they were met with sends a chilling message to those who want to serve their country by working for social change."

See, that's some shit that needs to be addressed with the Government, too. We got hook-ups for non-citizens, but we charge people who were born here up the ass to attend a school...and even more if they attend a school out of their state.

i take it you're out there then? hows yours going? i see the occupy people all the time out here in boston and have yet to talk to an intelligent one. and i also see them supporting the things they are fighting against aswell like banks and conglomerates and i just lol.

btw who are you talking to when you say you dont know shit about struggling? i been there homie and i'm not right now and have 0 plans on going back to that. i work and do what i have to do just to have a life i deem comfortable and nothing was ever given to me besides maybe bad luck. just because people like myself think it;s pointless to have this shit doesnt make them less of a person so how about turning you're cap locks down and relaxing.

Whjy should he? He wasn't the one complaining about it...here was merely saying that if you have a OPPOSING view, go do something about it.
did every body on here that shits on the Tea Party go out there, at that time, and do something about it? if no then that wasnt a good argument.

by the way, ive struggled financially since day one and due to roads i myself decided to travel down, im still struggling. alot of them protestors dont know shit about struggling. yet they're there. so that cancels that.
