The issues are so much bigger than the conditions in jail though. People complain about everything, it doesn't matter. I have spent years as an inmate and it was more the treatment than conditions that was the problem. It is a lifestyle in the end. You have people glorifying prison life who have never stepped foot on a yard. I have been in the shu, not pelican bay though.It is easy to comment from the outside looking in, but from the inside looking out is the perspective you need to truly understand. County living and prison living are completely different animals all together. I could say so much more but will not. What I will do though is educate myself to make a difference for my people in the struggle. Not the ones that talk it, but the ones that live it.
If any of you have people behind those walls, be there for them emotionally. A letter, a little money is all it takes. It is a state of mind in the end.
