Ronnie to the Warriors. He was a great teammate but I think we can move on without him pretty well. Good luck in The Bay Ronnie.

What do you guys think of Josh Smith? I think were stacked at SF but we should dump Walton (bum).

Here is some news. Nothing huge but worth knowing.

Lakers agree to terms with Chinese guard Sun Yue

Aug 9, 3:59 pm EDT

LOS ANGELES (AP)—The Los Angeles Lakers agreed to terms with guard Sun Yue, who is playing for China and will face Kobe Bryant and the U.S. men’s team Sunday in the Beijing Olympics.

Lakers spokesman John Black declined Saturday to discuss details of the terms and said it could be some time before a contract is signed.

“It could be weeks, it could be days,” he said.

The 6-foot-9, 212-pound Sun was the Lakers’ second-round draft pick last year. He played with the Aoshen club in Beijing and with the Chinese national team before the Olympics.

Sun has played mostly point guard in China but Black wouldn’t specify his role with the Lakers, saying it was a coaching decision. Derek Fisher and Jordan Farmar were the top two point guards when the Lakers lost to Boston in the NBA finals.

The Lakers are considering moving Bryant to small forward and making frontcourt player Lamar Odom a guard.
Lakers sign free-agent Josh Powell

Aug 14, 8:36 pm EDT

LOS ANGELES (AP)—The Los Angeles Lakers signed free-agent forward Josh Powell on Thursday. Terms of the contract weren’t released.

The 6-foot-9 Powell, a three-year NBA veteran, spent last season with the Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 5.5 points and 5.2 rebounds in 64 games.

Powell has career averages of 4.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in 138 games with Dallas, Indiana, Golden State and the Clippers. After going undrafted in 2003, Powell spent two seasons overseas, where he played in the Italian and Russian leagues.

^the josh powell news actually is kinda big...

he essentially replaces turiaf at a very cheap price, and if he plays up to his potential could turn out to be an important signing. we needed another big bad. he's definitely not a savior, but he will be a nice help. i liked powell watching him play for GS (what few minutes he got).

and i still don't know about sun yue. i've been hearing the word potential with him for the past year, but he hasnt really done anything special. i guess he cant hurt...won't be worse than coby (hopefully).

Those 3 championship trophies would not collect any less dust if Shaq was still on the team. Point being, Shaq's presence over the past 4 years has no barring over his 3 titles.

yeah youre right. shaqs old. but he wasnt when kobe was his crash dummy. will kobe be satisfied never winning another title?

no.

why is that?

because he will forever be remembered as not being able to win a championship without shaq. whether you agree or not, "how my ass taste" is going to be playing in his head over and over til he gets a ring of his own.

how my ass taste?

No one in the entire NBA would be satisfied not winning a championship for ANY reason. There are countless players that will NEVER win one. Kobe has 3 already so compared to 99% of the NBA he's sittin pretty (especially now that he has an MVP). Hate on..

how my ass taste?
= FAIL.

you honestly think its not in the back of kobe's mind? dont you think he'd want to alleviate all doubt?
