^leave that shit in the other thread...nobody wants to hear about the celtics in here.

but anyway...my ideal offseason is pretty simple:

odom, vlad, walton = out the door
artest = welcome to LA
find a good defensive PG
find a way to make pau stop playing like such a pussy
get bynum healthy

sun yue is supposed to join the team next season too...who knows how that'll turn out

we have a good, young team...a huge overhaul isn't necessary. all we're missing is defense and toughness (edit: and consistency...*cough* odom, walton, vlad *cough* ...those muhfuckas are the epitomy of inconsistency.)

the lakers needed shooters because they couldnt get in the paint. at all.
GETTING IN THE PAINT WOULD BE BYNUM'S JOB...IT WOULD HAVE A DIFFRENT SERIES WITH HIM IN THE CENTER SPOT...BOY CAN D UP AND BLOCK SHOTS, TOO BAD. BUT NEXT YEAR WE GOT THAT POSSIBILITY.

lakers will be alright, they got a young team & with bynum back next year, thats gonna put gasol back in his natural position where he can be more productive..lakers dont need no major trades, this team is just gonna get better with time, laker fans just need to stay patient..this was the youngest team in nba history to reach the finals, and we'll be back next year gauranteed...

gaysol lost all his confidence in his jumper...thta fool COULDNT HIT SHIT..

odom seemed to lose a lot too...

i was thinking to get rid of odom to sac for artest..he can guard and shoot better that odom..

it would have 2 be a big package...like odom..walton..or another bench player and maybe a draft pick

if the lakers were to hav bynum at the 5..gaysol at the 4..artest at the 3..kobe at the 2...that would have to guarantee a ring..

obviously i hope this doesnt happen tho!

the lakers problems are a lot deeper than bynum being out. they still would have lost. hes 22 and still young, pj brown and kendrick perkins would have had their way with him. i dont see the lakers making it back to the finals next year. the hornets would have dookied all over l.a. and are gonna be even better next year.

MAYBE SO BUT PAU IS NOT A CENTER WHEREAS BYNUM IS MORE PHYSICAL THAN GASOL WILL EVER BE. AND GASOL CAN GO BACK TO PLAYING HIS NATURAL POSITION...CELTICS WOULD HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH TWO 7 FOOTERS INSTEAD OF ONE...SO THERE'S SOME ARGUMENT THERE.

funny how alot of ppl were thinking our defense wasnt that good but just a lil tidbit our defense was considered the 3rd best since defensive stats were tracked. only a knicks and spurs team ahead of what we did on defense this year. and yeah defense always wins championships. if not then Nash would have a ring and maybe stockton.
Read the thread title.

Kendrick Perkins is 23 and him and PJ would not have had thier way with Bynum. People really must have not seen Bynum play hes athletic tough blocks shots and has a nice post game. Pau Gasol played much better in Game 5 when Perkins was out and Garnett was guarding him and thats what will happen when Bynum is back. How would the Hornets have dookied on us if they didnt even beat the Spurs??? And we are just going to get worse right?

Thizz you really want Odom to leave? if he plays small forward he will flourish for sure.
i honestly don't think an odom/gasol/bynum frontcourt will work anymore...so unless bynum comes off the bench (which i don't want at all) odom needs to go. his bad/inconsistent jumpshot alone crosses him off my small forward list...he's had 4 years to prove he can fit in and consistently contribute in LA and it hasn't happened.

a more conventional SF that can play defense and shoot/create own shot (ron artest, tayshaun prince, shane battier, luol deng, caron butler, richard jefferson, etc) will benefit us so much more.

my dream rotation for next season:

Bynum/Kurt Thomas/Mihm or Mbenga?
Gasol/Turiaf
Artest/Ariza/Newble
Kobe/Sasha/Yue
Fish/Farmar/Karl?

I WAS JUST THINKING...THE LAKERS NEED TO GET ARTEST, TRADE HIM FOR ODOM OR VLAD....I KNOW HES A HEADCASE, BUT PHIL JACKSON WOULD SMOOTH HIM OVER ALONG WITH KOBE....PHIL HAS DEALT WITH DENNIS RODMAN, OS IM SURE PHIL CAN DEAL WITH ARTEST

THE LAKE SHOW WOULD GET A SF DEFENDER, WHO CAN REBOUND AND ADD SOME TOUGHNESS...WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?
lol @ "i was just thinking..." like artest to LA hasn't been brought up for over a year

imma kill luke walton
^real shit...this man has really made a career out of having a "high basketball IQ." get that shit outta here...go be a coach if that's all you bring to the table. the day he signed that extension last year was one of the worst days of my life.

SERIOUSLY, THIS REMINDS ME OF WHEN THE MAVS LOST IN THE FINALS IN 06...THEY WAS NEVER THE SAME, AND HAVENT BEEN THE SAME...IM NOT SAYING ITS GONNA HAPPEN TO THE LAKE SHOW, BUT THIS WAS THERE SHOT AND THEY BLEW IT
^how was this our shot? we overachieved like fuck this year.

whatever...win or lose, our team gained a hell of alot of experience this season. our team is still hella young.

I'm actualy going to go with the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" phrase here. Especially with a healthy Bynum back. However, if we could acquire a player like Artest for Odom and some of the bench or even sign someone like Davis or Arenas then I'd obviously be all for it. Hell of a season, though. Showtime is back.

lakers probably still would of lost with bynum maybe, but it of would definetly made a big diffrence in rebounding & defense..and as far as the lakers not making it back to the finals, they are already favored to win the west & second to win it all coming in second to boston..lakers are a young team homie, theyll bounce back..
