evans backed out of the deal hoping to get more money from someone (maybe atlanta)

and Monta Ellis (Golden State) -- although a source told ESPN.com that Ellis has agreed conceptually to a six-year contract to remain with the Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors have matched the contract offer submitted to restricted free agent guard Kelenna Azubuike by the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Golden State Warriors have signed forward Richard Hendrix, whom the club selected with the 49th overall selection in last month’s NBA Draft, to a contract, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin announced today. Hendrix, 21, was an early entry candidate for the NBA Draft after playing three seasons at Alabama. As a junior, he earned First Team All-SEC honors after averaging 17.8 points (fifth in SEC), 10.1 rebounds (first in SEC) and 1.94 blocks (fifth in SEC) in 32 contests. He posted 32 career double-doubles and currently ranks 11th on Alabama’s all-time list for career rebounds (849) and 18th in career points (1,327).

also this is some new about the first round pick that we traded for marcus williams: So what do the Nets get? Maybe a first round pick. If the Warriors are in the playoffs in 2011, the Nets get their first round pick. So it’s lottery-protected in 2011. If the Nets are still waiting for the pick in 2012, they get G. State’s first rounder, as long as it’s not 1-through 11. If they’re still waiting in 2013, they get the first rounder as long as it’s not 1-through-10. But 2013 is the cutoff. If they haven’t gotten the pick by then they get two second rounders, in 2013 and 2015.

^^Yea we got a deeper team this year, maybe the bench can actually contribute now...still its gonna be interesting to see how all these new guys gel together and play good ball to win some games. They got a good core now, and next year Randolph (and hopefully Hendrix) will be more polished and the Warriors can get a dope FA cuz theres gonna be a nice list of FA's in '09 and '10. Still waiting to hear about Monta's and Biendrins' new deals though where they at????
