For one, this country was FOUNDED on the Christian faith. I'm not saying it's right, I'm not saying it's wrong...but it is a FACT! I read the Newsweek article, and it offered no insight as to what percentage of the United States is still Christian. It was 86%, then it declined. STILL, more than HALF of the US is Christian...either way you look at it. As of 2008, 25.1% are Catholic, 15.8% are Baptist, 14.2% are generic Christian, 12.9% are mainline protestant, 3.5% are pentecostal, 3.1% protestant denominations, 1.4% Mormon...that's 76%. That doesn't include the people they DIDN'T ASK! It's a survey, and there's no way in hell they asked 300,000+ people...I know they didn't ask me.
How is any of that relevant? How is what Obama said about this country's religious stance relevant? Did it offend you? Fact of the matter is, this country is rapidly becoming a DIVERSE religious, multicultural nation. That was his point. He wants other nations to understand that this country isn't what bush probably made it seem (bunch of gun toting, bible carrying, ignorant, racist hicks). So could you please explain to me how that is a BAD thing?
In any case, Obama is not letting our Capitalist economy run it's course. He is taking OUR money, and giving it to other people in order to "re-up" the economy, which doesn't work with Capitalism.
