Picking McFadden was a terrible move for the Raiders, they had much more pressing needs, and McF could be reggie bush like, they need pass stuffers and rushers
well McFadden does some pass blocking when he's a back.....we're not gonna invest 1st round money into a o-lineman after gallery......and we're also not gonna draft dorsey if we just invested that much into kelly who's at the same position. yes, DMC could be Bush-like.....but look what Bush did his first season, his draw helped the Saints reach the playoffs.....defenses were forced to look at his breakout ability and left openings for other receivers. last season he was the feature back which he shouldn't have been, it was only due to injury. besides, kiffen was the one who coached Bush in college, so if DMC is Bush-like then GOOD! we still have other backs.
YEA ITS TRUE RAIDERS FANS ALWAYS THINK "THIS IS THE YEAR" LOL SHIT I'M JUST GONNA BE HAPPY IF MY TEAM MAKES THE PLAYOFF'S THIS YEAR
this is stupid. I just addressed this, but I'll address your other comment, because you shouldn't just be happy if your team makes the playoffs, you should be ecstatic because that would be damn near a miracle. y'all will finish 3rd in your division, MAYBE 2nd, but you still have the possibility of finishing last if the Cardinals ever get their act together. Seattle & the Rams will be fighting for the #1 spot, don't ever forget that the Rams horrible season was only due to massive injuries.

not one Raider fan (besides Tony & Deebo, who might be one in the same) are claiming double digit wins or playoff berths. Yes, we all hope for it, but its not an expectation. It would take LT getting injured and Norv's genius  coaching to get the bolts out of the top spot....Denver might still be ok if they're D is there, their running game is always on point but they now have no receivers.....Cheifs all depend on whether or not their rookies will have breakout years, but I doubt that will happen

I can make assumptions about what 9ers "always" say but what's the point? you're still all up in the Raider thread.

lol, thats cuz of injuries, well it makes sense to get a ol when we had 2 leave in the offseason......

they do, from the 5 super bowl trophies, to winning more games last year, to not losing to the raiders in years.....

thats just that raider homerism that runs thru ur veins, it happens every year, yall think ur super bowl bound, only to be bound to the bottom of the nfl ladder, and cannot climb it, this year will be no exception, and i have given my 49er prediction, and no its not super bowl bound.

LOL. raider homerism?? ur the biggest homer ever. real talk. lmao, and to say we all think that the raiders are super bowl bound?? LOL. r u like seriously retarded? for real? u and ur 9er fans are just as bad, if not worse.

@Defy it would take a miracle for your team too, but I really do feel like we gon make them this year.
and that's the difference. most Raider fans are smart enough to know that it would take a miracle for either team to make it.....9er fans on the other hand......well......I'll just end it at that

Read any of my Raiders-related posts.

I think they have a great shot, looking at the schedule, of finishing 8-8, which is a big improvement over last season. I think it's too early to tell, though, because Russell hasn't proven anything, McFadden hasn't touched the ball in a regulation game, and the only 'sure thing' about the Raiders is that Robert Gallery is a bust.

Come on now Defy... I know you're smarter than that and I am not trying to insult your intelligence but that's a low blow coming from a fellow Raider fan dog. Me and Deebo ain't the same person. Why would I post under 2 names man? WTF? Don't let what these other cats have to say influence the way you think bro.

But anyway, yeah I predicted us to be 11-5 this season. We've seriously upgraded our receiving position. Javon Walker is a true number one receiver. Drew Carter is a speedster and he'll stretch the field, making sure defenses play true. Then we have McFadden, who teams will have to respect because he can take it to the house on any play with his 4.33 speed. So with our offense it'll be like pick your poison.

And as far as our defense is concerned...we probably have the best CB tandem in the league. We've upgraded at safety so Huff can be moved to free. If our defensive tackles can somehow step up and control the line of scrimmage look out.... With all these free agent upgrades the expectations in Oakland are high. Kiffin and Al know it... the whole team know.

Raiders sign Hartwell

Four seasons ago, Edgerton Hartwell was considered one of the NFL's premier young inside linebackers with the Ravens.

Three lost seasons later, he hopes to rejuvenate his career with the Raiders.

Hartwell agreed to a free-agent deal with Oakland, two NFL sources confirmed Friday, giving the team a veteran presence at middle linebacker and the player a chance to get back into the league.

He signed with the Bengals last season, got cut after training camp and wasn't signed by anyone else. His previous two seasons in Atlanta were cut short by an injured Achilles' heel and arthroscopic surgery on both knees.

The Raiders, ever willing to salvage fallen talents, hope Hartwell, who turns 30 this month, can return to the form that made him one of the league's better run stoppers from 2002-04.

Picking McFadden was a terrible move for the Raiders
You are an idiot. How can this be a "terrible" move? McFadden is a big play threat and having McFadden will help JaMarcus Russell develop as a qb. Plus he'll probably be our running back of the future. JaMarcus and McFadden will grow as professionals together.

The 49ers passing on DeSean Jackson was a terrible move. They could have drafted him in the 2nd round after they picked up that d lineman but they still passed on him. They had 2 opportunities and still passed on him. They drafted a guard instead... LOL

something the raiders should of done (regarding drafting o line men).....jrussel cant "grow" as a professional if hes on his back....raiders o-line is still poreous and has some of the worst depth in the leauge.....one injury and your a top 5 pick again..

agree or not.....its the god honest truth

we should be improved on both sides of the ball, no doubt. kiffin is showing his true proffesionalism by not even commenting on the rumors being spread this offseason. raider haters should pay attention. in my opinion kiffins conduct is well beyond his age. what a find!

Yes sir... If Javon Walker is healthy look out. He's got a chip on his shoulder. It's all about execution and last year the Raiders were pretty good at executing and running Kiffin's offense. Adding McFadden/Walker/Carter is going to open the whole offense up.

I was wrong about Kiffin last year. I said he should have been fired but I'll take that back. Giving what he had to work with I think overall he did a fine job.

figure out whose on board. now its time to fill some needs and improve record wise. i feel we can make the playoffs but next year will be the year no doubt. the run opens the pass and we should be operating the best run attack in the nfl this year. you know al davis is a motherfucka to deal with but kiffin definately is bringing change. reminds me of what gruden did with our team. hopefully kiifin stays and is signed long-term. yeah, i had my doubts about kiffin last year, specifically play calling. how many 3rd and 1 4th and ones did the run get stuffed last year? but overall like you said he wasnt working with much talent last year. if we dont go 8-8 atleast ill be suprised. we've made some big aquisitions on both sides of the ball including special teams. we shall see!
