Naaaa we don't need Trent as our back-up. We're better off trying to get Daunte to re-sign but he wants to be a starter. I'd rather go with Andrew Walter as our backup if not Daunte.

So your gonna say your gonna rather have Walter that has never helped us one game. Then Dilfer u should put the blunt down too.Dilfer has won a superbowl remember.I agree with bringing Culpepper back. But thinking Walter or Gray can mentor Russell.Walter aint done shit with Raiders and Gray only did good with the Jaguars because he had a solid O-line .Russell needs a veteran to mentor him not 1 nobody (Walter)and 1 rookie(Gray). Also i've heard around the Raiders can brink Tuiasopo back come on.Raider fans everywhere were happy when he left. Why would the Raiders want him back that be a step back.

LOL... I never told you to put the blunt down but anyway.... That Ravens defense is what won them that ring that year. All Dilfer had to do was "not screw up" and the defense took care of the rest. As long as Dilfer didn't throw a pick or fumble the Ravens were going to win regardless. You're giving Dilfer too much credit for the Ravens winning the SuperBowl.

Walter is already on our team and he already knows the playbook.

And Trent Green? Are you serious? He's a concussion away from retiring man.

Raiders, Hall agree on seven-year deal

NFL.com Wire Reports

DeAngelo Hall will team with Nnamdi Asomugha to give the Raiders a formidable cornerback tandem.

It's official. The Oakland Raiders have reached agreement with cornerback DeAngelo Hall on a seven-year, $70 million contract that includes $24.5 million in guaranteed money, NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting.

To acquire Hall, the Raiders will send a 2008 second-round pick and a 2009 fifth-round pick to the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons now will have four of the top 48 selections in the upcoming draft.

Hall is a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2005 and 2006), but he is nearly as well known for his outspoken demeanor. He clashed openly with former Falcons coach Bobby Petrino last season and was benched for a half after a sideline confrontation.

G/GS: 57/55
Tackles: 228
INT: 17

Hall was the Falcons' No. 1 pick in 2004.

Raiders owner Al Davis has always valued cornerbacks who can excel playing man-to-man coverage. Pairing Hall with Nnamdi Asomugha would give Oakland one of the top tandems in the game and perhaps the best for the Raiders since Mike Haynes and Lester Hayes helped the team win its last Super Bowl following the 1983 season.

The move would also provide insurance if Asomugha were to leave as a free agent following next season. The Raiders placed the exclusive franchise tag on Asomugha, guaranteeing him at least $9.465 million in 2008. They still would like to sign him to a long-term deal.

Asomugha had a breakthrough season in 2006, intercepting eight passes and becoming one of the top cover cornerbacks in the league. Asomugha had only one interception last season as teams often shied away from throwing to his side of the field and took advantage of Stanford Routt and Fabian Washington on the other side.

By acquiring Hall, that would be more difficult. Washington and Routt have not lived up to expectations in Oakland since being drafted with the team's first two picks in 2005.

By completing the deal, the Raiders only have one draft pick in the first three rounds.

So who would you rather see be traded Routt or Washington? Cuz there talking like one of them is going out the door I think Washington has more upside but I dont think man to man is the best thing for him maybe better trade bait seeing as we dont have many draft picks due to trades raiders have made so far

I'D RATHER SEE WASHINGTON TRADED. HE IS MORE OF A TAMPA-2, ZONE COVERAGE TYPE OF CB AND I THINK HE'D DO BETTER ELSEWHERE. ROUT HAS THE SKILL TO PLAY MAN AND THE SIZE TO PLAY NICKEL IF NEED BE.

yeah, I think fabian is good, but we should use his potential to our advantage and trade him away for drafted potential in a more needed area

Why would they trade Washington or Routt? they gonna needa replacement for Aso next year....
WE REALLY ONLY NEED TO TRADE ONE OF THEM IF WE STAY AT #4 OVERALL AND DON'T TRADE DOWN. WE WOULD TRADE ONE OF THEM TO GET SOME MORE PICKS.

IF WE TRADE DOWN WE'LL GET A GANG OF PICKS AND JUST KEEP THEM FOR NICKLE AND DEPTH.

Your crazy if you think the raiders are gonna let him go. He's getting his money he's going to get 9.8 million this season and I'm sure his franchise contract will be extended further.
