YEP. YOU'RE RIGHT. THERE IS ACTUALLY A RUMOR GOING AROUND NOW THAT ASO JUST SIGNED A LONG TERM DEAL AND NOW D HALL IS BACK PEDDLING CUZ HE DOESN'T WANT A DEAL THAT IS MOSTLY BACKLOADED WITH MONEY.

I HOPE IT'S TRUE. WE WOULD HAVE THE DOPEST CORNER TANDEM IN THE LEAGUE BUT I COULD TAKE HIM OR LEAVE HIM AT THIS POINT. ASO IS THE GUY WE NEED TO FOCUS ON SIGNING.
Well, I think they would be better off without Hall, and continue on developing Washington, Its looking bad for just about every 1 of their 1st rounders...

YEAH WE HAD SOME PRETTY BAD DRAFTS. WASHINGTON WILL NEVER LIVE UP TO WHAT HE SHOULD BE IN OUR DEFENSIVE SCHEME. HE'S MORE OF A ZONE OR TAMPA 2 GUY AND WE MOSTLY PLAY MAN.

Hall close to finalizing deal with Raiders
Two-time Pro Bowl CB to sign contract with Oakland Thursday

By STEVE WYCHE
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 03/18/08
Falcons two-time Pro Bowl cornerback DeAngelo Hall told the AJC Tuesday that he will finalize a contract with Oakland by Thursday morning and that a trade between Atlanta and the Raiders will be consummated shortly thereafter.

Hall said he is scheduled to fly to Oakland Wednesday to meet with team officials and sign a new contract.

"There is just some tweaking of the language that needs to be done, some minor details," Hall said of contract negotiations. "No deal breakers."

Atlanta will receive Oakland's second- and sixth-round picks in the April 26-27 NFL draft. The compensation will give the Falcons four selections in the first 48 picks of the draft — three in the second round. Atlanta holds the No. 3 overall pick along with the 36th and 48th picks.

Once the trade is completed, the Falcons would add the 34th overall selection currently held by Oakland.

Hall will be a solid pick up for sure...my only concern now is how do we stop the run? What have we added to the D-line to improve our run D that ranked 2nd to last. Especially in a division that has run heavy offenses.

Bring Wilson in the box (as the 8th man), leave Huff at free safety to roam the middle of the field, and have Aso and Hall play man to man defense on the receivers.

Who do you think we should draft? You think we should draft a defensive tackle (Dorsey?)

Yeah Wilson should help the run D but I'd like to see us get a proven run stuffer on the line. I was always high on drafting McFadden because I think he will make the most impact as a rookie in the top 5 but now that I think about it a DT would make alot more sense. I dont know what Dorsey and Ellis's strengths/weakness's are but I think I'll probally be satisfied with whoever we draft.

Aight fellaz... let's go with a defensive tackle even though McFadden would be hard to pass up. I think we'll be cool with drafting Dorsey, Ellis, or McFadden. We should get who ever is available. I am thinking we're going to go defensive tackle though.

I dont think there will be any way Dorsey will be on the board when we pick and if not I dont like taking Ellis although im a SC fan.

I say we try and trade down a little bit and hope Vernon Gholston is still on the board a D.E.

I say we keep the number 4 pick and draft the best player available if we can afford it. Vernon Gholston looks like an animal. Dorsey or Gholston...

Thing is we are gonna be low on picks this year..If the deal goes through with Hall we wont have a 2nd and 6th pick. We already lost our 5th pick(Warren trade) and I think our 3rd(NE trade/can someone confirm?). That leaves us with 3 draft picks...we still have plenty of holes to fill and 3 picks wouldn't be enough. I'm thinking we'll end up trading someone for more picks...possibly Washington

Yeah I hear you about needing more picks... I think they might trade Fabe. I was just watching a few highlights on Gholston and he looks like an animal.

After watching highlights of Dorsey... I agree he won't be there at number 4. He's going top 3 for sure.

Aight just watched highlights of Ellis too... he looks like a young Warren Sapp. We should take Ellis, Dorsey, or Gholston. I think that 4 spot is too valuable because they're some good defenders coming out of the draft. I would pass on McFadden after seeing these defenders.

^Some are saying NOW that dorsey had knee surgery n thats why hes not doin any of the work outs, etc. etc.

To me, I dunno why but drafting dorsey seems like a mistake. I just have a weird feeling about the dude. Now if the raiders do draft him then I wish him the best and succeed.

I think vernon gholston is gonna be special. Somehow he drops, and we trade down to nab him along with additional draft picks. I wouldnt mind Mcfadden either.

OMG................. WOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!!

i just heard on ESPN that Deangelo Halls NEW contract is worth...................

7 years 70 mil

........................ i dont know the details about the contract yet but still thats waaaaaaaaay over paying. i love the fact that hall is on our team but to pay him that much is not the right move.

Whats aso gonna want now if the #2 corner on the team is gettin 10 mil.

Like defy and S1 said, i think we shouldve worked on aso's contract before hall or anyone else for that matter.

Chris Mortensen, of ESPN.com, reports Atlanta Falcons CB DeAngelo Hall could receive a contract from the Oakland Raiders for around seven years and $70 million, once the trade is finalized between the two teams. The team's are also discussing more compensation than just a second-round pick for the Raiders to acquire Hall.

yeah thats alot but the raiders have been doing it to everyone they get this year so kinda had to expect it with a guy as good as hall.
