No, but he can give him insight and will probably have better ideas of how to catch footballs
idea's on how to catch footballs? put your hands out and grab it. not much to it. personally i think he just needs some time to get comfortable and settle down. look at vernon davis he settled down and practice more and had a hell of a year.

lol....true.....but for instance, running backs who fumble, you could just say "hold on to the ball" but they still fumble, but if you give them tweaks to their technique then their amount of fumbles goes down significantly. I think there might be different techniques that DHB can be shown, certain things to practice that will improve his hands, and the insight that can give him the confidence to succeed......or at least be decent.

I agree that you can try to teach him different techniques on how to catch the ball and maybe make him a lil better but tha dude isnt gonna all of a sudden turn into Cris Carter....

I just dont see him working out and, just like I did with Jamarcus Russell, I called it on draft day.....Can't cut him until you give him at least 3 years.....by then you should have an idea of how good he can become.....but as of right now he didnt really start off on tha right foot.....

I think if DHB could bust his ass every offseason like non-stop, get trained by Jerry Rice, study his opponents each week and with a little bit of luck he might be raw......

.....well, raw for a 4th WR, he might even be a decent 3rd WR one day if we can get a QB that can throw to people in the same uniforms as his :cheeky:

Raiders apply same logic to RFA process as everything else

By Doug Farrar

Yeah, yeah ... we know. When it comes to football writers and the Oakland Raiders, we're guilty of picking the low-hanging fruit far too often. While the Raiders' methods are, um, "unconventional," and far from successful over the last few years, I sometimes wonder if we bash this franchise as a reflex action. After all, the Raiders are far from the only dysfunctional NFL team, and there are great seasons not too long ago. Sometimes, it even seems like they might even start to turn things around.

And then, days like Wednesday happen, and I realize that Al Davis is an evil genius, writing our jokes for us. In case you didn't catch it, the Raiders put a third-(original)round restricted free agent tender on linebacker Kirk Morrison(notes), despite the fact that Morrison has been one of the NFL's more consistent defenders over the last few years, and has missed only one game since 2005. They then placed a second-round tender on quarterback Bruce Gradkowski(notes), despite the fact that Gradkowski (who I actually like a lot) saw only limited action behind (you'll pardon the expression) JaMarcus Russell(notes). That Gradkowski is infinitely better than Russell is totally irrelevant; Davis has repeatedly expressed his commitment to Russell no matter what the tape shows.

But throwing a bigger tag on their backup quarterback than they did on their starting middle linebacker wasn't the wackiest thing Oakland did Wednesday -- it put the highest tender, the first- and third-round version, on nickel cornerback Stanford Routt(notes). This move will require the Raiders to pay Routt over $3 million in 2010 despite the fact that Routt has never shown anything remotely approaching starting cornerback ability. The only time Routt was ever in competition with Chris Johnson for the starting corner job on the other side of Nnamdi Asomugha(notes) was when head coach Tom Cable put a few veterans through trumped-up position competitions in an attempt to enforce discipline and accountability. Routt is fast on the track, but he has never been more than a reserve defender in the NFL, and he gets burned so often in man coverage, his nickname should be "Fire Marshall Bill."

Are we surprised? No. Are we gratified? Not really. We don't WANT the Raiders to be this bad. I remember the days of Ken Stabler and Fred Biletnikoff and Marcus Allen and John Madden, and I miss the teams they used to have. But if Vampire Al is going to keep planting orchards of low-hanging fruit ... it'd be a sin to pass it up.

putting the second round on gradkowski is not a bad move because it has already been established that unless russell fights and wins the starting job it will gradkowski starting once the season begins.

Also on espn insider they have a thing from retard adam shefter (sp?) that the raiders might release Justin Fargas
good hope it happens.....he's an ok bacc but we gotta figure out a way to get bush and DMc more touches.....

2nd Rd tender on Grad is a great move....3 Rd tender on Morrison??? WTF?? at least if someone else wants him get something in return....not like dude is a mediocre or old player.....

1st and 3rd RD tender on Routt is one of those WTF moves.....why would you even need to do that???

Im hoping that somewhere along tha line of communication it got fucced up and Routt got the 3 and Morrison got the 1 & 3

We need to pull some trades off that will get us a late first round pick and some 2nd and 3rd round picks........Trade Mcfadden, Fargas, Morrisson and whoever else may have some value........With a late first round pick take a OL...Then maybe add some pieces to the defense in the latter rounds.....For some reason i think CJ spiller is gonna be a qulity back.......I want him in Oakland....I dont think Al will pass on a skilled position player at that 8 spot.....As much as we need an OLineman...We will draft skilled with that 8 pick...

yeah, I really like Kirk as a person. Hearing him in interviews and what not he seems like a real good guy, and he really seems to have love for the Raiders as an organization. But at the end of the day our run D sucks... and part of the problem is having him in the middle. I still say he'd be ok if we moved him outside, but I think he's gonna be gone. Peace out Kirk, it was fun... hope you have success elsewhere
