Coach Jim Harbaugh acknowledged Wednesday that Braylon Edwards is "gonna be out for a little bit" after "having a little procedure done" on his right knee.
Edwards appears to be much more week to week than day to day, though Harbaugh declined to elaborate. Look for Michael Crabtree to start until his balky foot acts up again. Avoid 49ers wide receivers in all fantasy leagues. Edwards can confidently be dropped in 12-team formats after catching just four passes for 48 yards in the first two weeks. He'll likely miss multiple games.

^ i dont think he doesnt realize, i think our o-line has just struggled and hes been left in to block. on the plays where he isnt blocking he draws a double team, thats what happend on that walker td this past weekend. but i agree i def need to see him get more touches, he aint getting me any damn fantasy points!

Breh I see your point but did leaving Vernon in to block really help Alex get more time?? Because I was at the game and I didn't see any pass protection. If they want to blitz us make them pay for it with a hot route to Davis. Also please get rid of that fucken bum moron Norris and any package that involves him. Every time he's in its a guarantee we are running no defense thinks he is a threat out of the backfield. He can't catch he's not very mobile and hardly ever opens holes.

Niners need to utilize more 2 tight end sets and more Kendall hunter. And more slants and screen!! I mean this is the west coast offense, RIGHT!?!?! Would also be nice is we had a fullback who could catch the ball(not to mention open some holes, Norris is that bad).

btw it's coming out now that Alex had a concussion during the game.

The problem is that Alex Smith is not built for the W.C.O. ...

We need QB's like Hasselbeck, Palmer, Kolb to let the full wrath of the W.C.O. on the field....

Kaepernick is studying the W.C.O. on the benches, next year he'll be something on the field....believe that!

Your right, but Kaepernick is not the answer. Tolzien is the guy we should be looking forward to in Harbaugh's offense. Smart decisions, super accurate and played in the west coast offense in college. I'm not excited all at all about Kaepernick.

report with concussion

The 49ers released their injury report on Wednesday, and it included a surprise entry; quarterback Alex Smith was there, along with the word concussion. Despite apparently suffering a mild concussion against the Cowboys, Smith fully participated in the 49ers' Wednesday practice.

San Francisco 49ers

Out (Definitely Will Not Play): WR Braylon Edwards (knee), RB Moran Norris (fibula)

Limited Participation in Practice: WR Michael Crabtree (feet)

Full Participation in Practice: CB Tramaine Brock (hand), QB Alex Smith (concussion)

Cincinnati Bengals

Out (Definitely Will Not Play): WR Jordan Shipley (knee)

Did Not Participate In Practice: DE Robert Geathers (shoulder), LB Dontay Moch (foot)

Limited Participation in Practice: G Otis Hudson (knee)

Full participation in Practice: S Taylor Mays (knee)

Shit..I had forgotten about Tolzien ....and you're right about him and the WCO .

Tolzien at this point is more NFL ready than Kap. The only thing is that he's still learning the playbook.

Pretty frustrating to see our running game being very ineffective so far this season. I know we lost time with the lockout, so its going to be a work in progress, but the playcalling was getting a bit predictable, especially on 1st downs.

Defense is overall playing well. The secondary gave up too many big plays, but again, these guys are all new to each other, so hiccups can be expected.

We need more Vernon Davis & Kendall Hunter in the offense right now.

^^^^^^^ Yep I agree that we need to see Kendall Hunter. I hate to say this but Frank Gore's career is over with. After that hip fracture he's a lot slower on his feet. I wonder if Harbaugh's gonna start someone else at QB this weekend? Since Alex has a Concussion.

@lungs i agree i hate norris and whil i dont wish injury on no one i think this fibula mishap will be good and well get to see miller, i think thats his name, his that guy that played D and transfered over, anyway the dude is a football player, and is waaay more versatile than norris.
I dont think gore is out what so ever, i think our o-line just needs to jel together and come thru, we have too many 1st rounders and probowlers not todo well, they just need to get it together. i mean look at our D-line sopoaga is the only mufucka 300+ but jim tomsula has been for 5 yrs and he has them play real well, i mean we may not get a lot of sack but we shut the run game down pretty well, we just need consistency, gore will show up.
the hot route to vernon would def work, but on those alex is gettin the shyt sacked outta him, he's playing well even with concussions, but we cant be having none of that, now lets hope that we blitz the crap outta that ginger kid and put him on the bench!

Don't let the O-Line off the hook so easy folks. They haven't exactly been clearing gaping holes for Frank, either.

Plus, you know teams are game planning around Frank, he's our best offensive weapon. 2 games in, no need to panic. Cincy has a mediocre run defense, so hopefully we can come out and get the ground game going against them.
