and he stunk it up in Atlanta before that. The team just felt he didn't have the abilities that they wanted.
the thing with Shaun tho was they didnt give him the same chance they gave Alex, playcalling was much worse (usually 2-3 runs up the middle), the o-line played much worse, and he didnt have Crabtree. also, the entire team stunk vs Atlanta.

whatever tho, glad we got something for him since we would have just cut him.

I was surprised Hill took the bye week off instead of staying and practicing with Crabtree.

marcus hudson signed with the panthers

No one with the 49ers is sold on restricted free agent LG David Baas as a "long-term answer," according to beat writer Matt Maiocco.
The 49ers made it clear that they weren't very high on Baas when the assigned him the low tender. They've been linked to veteran free agent G Chester Pitts, who would be a short-term upgrade.

Thats how desperate we are for a solid qb in SF again, ready to hand the franchise over to a what 5th round pick thats deaf or some shit? Id rather see Carr get his chance to shine
1. an example of the ignorance i spoke on a few pages ago
2. David Carr is 30, a former number 1 overall pick. he's had plenty of chances to "shine"
3. Tom Brady was a 6th round pick, but i guess David Carr, Alex Smith, Ryan Leaf, and Jamarcus Russell are all automatically better because they were drafted higher right?

1. What gives you any indication at all that Nate Davis is capable of being a succesful QB in the NFL? is it a preseason game? against the raiders? Is it his college career? Cuz you prolly know he played in a weak ass conference (i know the same could be said about smith but i think thats a different argument) Basically just give me anything that suggest that Nate Davis is a better pro QB than Shaun Hill at least.

2. When did david carr get his shot to "shine"? I dont even like Carr, are you saying he had his chance in the first years of the Texan's franchise? Is it his fault he didnt turn that team into a superbowl franchise from scratch?

3. I got nothing back on this one, my point is, there is no reason to be really calling his number to get some snaps other than we have limited options for a QB and we havent had anything close to a pro bowl QB since 2001 or 02 and that creates unrealistic expectations for Nate Davis based on nothing. Yea he has a strong arm, so did Kyle Boller.

CARR WAS SACKED A RECORD 76 TIMES I THINK IT WAS. THAT KIND OF SHIT MAKES YOU GUN SHY IF THE NINERS COULD PUT A DECENT LINE IN FRONT OF HIM MAYBE HE COULD DO BETTER BUT THE SAME THING CAN BE SAID FOR ALEX SMITH HE HAS ALL THE TOOLS BUT CAN NEVER SET HIS FEET AND THROW FOR FEAR OF BEING OBLITERATED BY THE BLITZ I HOPE THEY ADDRESS THE LINE IN FREE AGENCY OR THE DRAFT ONLY TIME WILL TELL

Niners just signed CB Karl Paymah to a one year deal. I'm pretty sure they were trying to sign him last year but ended up signing somewhere else. Probably gonna just play some nickel.

Yeah, signed with Vikes last year but didn't really do shit. 27 tackes, 1 FF and 0 Int....3 for career.

^^^^9ers signed CB Karl Paymah to a one-year contract.
Paymah, 27, can be a valuable special teamer, but the 49ers will be in trouble if he's forced into much defensive action. After flopping badly in coverage last year, the Vikings didn't even tender him a $1.226 million contract.

Free agent LB Akin Ayodele will visit with the Lions on Thursday night and into Friday.
The Niners let Ayodele leave the Bay Area without a contract after offering him only a clear-cut backup role. He wouldn't start in Detroit, either, unless the Lions are quietly planning to cut ties with Julian Peterson's big salary.

49ers ILB Patrick Willis recently underwent surgery to have the bursa sac removed from his knee.
The minor procedure is routine and won't cost Willis much offseason work, if any. The league's leading tackler last season, Willis also recently took home the 2009 Butkus Award, given annually to the NFL's best linebacker.
