Would you guys trade a 2nd round pick for Donovan McNabb? I was reading that's what the rumors are saying that he might go for. We take 2 OL with our 2 1st rounders like Iupati and Bulaga. We already have all the offensive weapons and our O line would be upgraded by a lot. With Donovan throwing the ball behind a good line our O would be pretty deadly. Plus he'd help the niners groom Nate Davis the entire time.

Well he is 33 so he still has some good years ahead of him. I don't think a 2nd RD pick is too high for someone who is proven to make average receivers better. With an improved O-line (draft) it would actually make alot of sense to make a move like that. I like Alex Smith but if you have a chance to greatly improve that position, go for it.

and he has crazy moves, both finesse and power

watch that gang tackle he breaks out of, beastmode. then runs 60 yards for the td without a shoe, he looks faster without 1 shoe than anybody we have on the niners.

not much room on the sideline but spiller breaks 2 different guys ankles bad and flys down the sideline for a td

the more i see, the more i like. these were just a couple of his great highlights, he has many more including many return tds where he runs a perfect line to slice thru the de and break to the house.

he could be a great great return man for us, help spell gore, and also play some wideout as needed. he will be a playmaker in the nfl for whoever drafts him.

some people might not think we need him, but what if gore gets hurt?

why not get another playmaking running back to help relieve alex?

the contrast of gore and spiller could be one of the best running back tandems in the nfl.
Looks like the guy blocking for him towards the end in the 1st video might be as fast or faster????

yeah that wideout hit the boost to land that finisher block

spiller did have 1 shoe on, and looks like he waited for the block to catch up to finish the run for a score.

but no doubt, other dude has wheels too.

Ulbrich lands a job on Seahawks staff

FUCK!

Congratulations to former 49ers linebacker Jeff Ulbrich, who put his networking skills to the test this week at the Senior Bowl and came away with his first coaching job. The bad news for 49ers fans? The hard-working Ulbrich had landed with a division rival. Ulbrich will be the assistant special teams coach with the Seahawks. Ulbrich met with new Seattle coach Pete Carroll this week.

I just got off the phone with Ulbrich who is looking for a house in the Seattle area. He's got three kids and said his two youngest ones are excited about the move. This is just my opinion, but I think a coach has to have three assets to be successful: He has to be a tireless worker; he has to be smart; he has to love football. Ulbrich goes three for three on that list. And just in case you're wondering: Ulbrich said he has no intention of sharing playbook secrets with his new team and doesn't expect the Seahawks to ask.

So why didn't the 49ers make a play for Ulbrich? They simply didn't have room. Ulbrich's specialty is linebackers and special teams. The 49ers retained assistant special teams coach Dave Fipp when Kurt Schottenheimer was hired. And they lead the league in linebackers coaches. Long-time assistant Jason Tarver coaches outside linebackers, Vantz Singletary coaches inside linebacker and Al Harris is the pass-rush specialist.

I'm getting ready to watch the Senior Bowl on NFL Network. Check back later for my thoughts and observations. I'd like to read your evaluations as well.

49ers FS Dashon Goldson confirmed that he wants a long-term extension this offseason.
Goldson switched agents to Drew Rosenhaus on Saturday. "When it comes to getting an extension, I want to make sure it's something that's going to be good to me and my family down the road," Goldson said. Goldson's contract is up after the 2010 season.

The 49ers are discussing a long-term contract extension with OLB Ahmad Brooks, sources tell Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.
Brooks really came on at the end of the season after converting from an inside linebacker to a situational pass rusher. He forced five fumbles and had five sacks over the final six games of the season. The Niners have been raving about him, but they could tender him for one year and find out if that late-season surge was a fluke.

Niners Spend More than $350K on Stadium Push

Feb. 3, 2010

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) -- The 49ers have so far given more than $350,000 to a campaign for a new stadium for the team in Santa Clara.

Campaign finance documents filed this week show the team and its stadium corporation contributed $100,000 in cash in November and December to Santa Clarans for Economic Progress, a group of civic leaders running the team's stadium effort. The remaining contribution was in staff time.

Meanwhile, the leading stadium opposition group, Santa Clara Plays Fair, only managed to raise $825 during the same period.

Santa Clarans for Economic Progress has already qualified an initiative for the June 8 ballot to get voter approval for the proposed $937 million stadium next to Great America theme park.

49ers' spokeswoman Lisa Lang says the team plans to continue donating to the group "as necessary."
