I like the song.

But Nelly is a commerical rapper, and wanted/needed a reason to make a hyphy sounden track

I like how he gave props though, and it was creative enough to dig

As much as I love the movement and being from out here, in terms of mainstream media, Nelly is bigger than hyphy. What does he need the bay for? I think they bay has for got the meaning of the word love.

problem is a fake bay song is getting more love and attention than a real bay song. Somebody giving props is cool, but with so few of the bays top artist getting radio play it just seems odd. And if he does a remix it will be Short and 40 and that doesn't help the bay grow. Everyone already knows them they have been in the game since the 80's. I wonder if Nelly is playing this song in the midwest or is it just for generating sales and radio in this market? Because its big money out here, but sadly our artist don't get to see any of it...
TRUE....He prolly got an L.A version, Chicago version, D.C version, Philly version, N.Y version, etc...With producers from those regions following the same format....Good marketing even if this is not the case, which I'm pretty sure that's gonna' happen cause all of a sudden givin' props to the Bay out of nowhere just doesn't make sense...Just ask Snoop how far that got him......

Nelly - "The Bay" Remix - thoughts?

hahahaha...That's DOPE!

RJ...you know he need to remix it and throw 40, Spice and Short on there and go national....That would be huge fam!
This is what I'm contemplating for a remix. Feature Spice 1, E-40 and Too $hort, and let them do their own thing on the remix. However, with those three verses taken over by the real people, that leaves Nelly without any one to pay homage to.

Since he does a pretty good job of impersonating the three in the original, what if for the remix see if he could do a good Mac Dre impression. I think that would be pretty dope, allow Nelly to pay tribute to a Bay Legend who couldn't be on the remix, and allow for three big features. Of course he would have his work cut out for him, but if he could come with some dope bars about Thizzelle Washington himself, this could have a lot of support.

What do you guys think? Who should be on the remix?

DISCLAIMER: I know I'm gonna catch heat from cats saying "Dre can't be impersonated." "Shit no one will ever be able to be like Dre".... etc. This is just a thought that if pulled off correctly maybe would be cool. If done improperly, it could be disastrous.
