It's a novelty record, that is meant to get a piece of the top 5 market in the country pie. Think about how much money is to made out here if you are in demand. It's a 100K to be made out here in shows and features easy just from shows and features and that is not to mention merchandising. The song is o.k. at best, That wasn't even one of Droop-E's better sound and 808 driven tracks, but the business end of it is smart for Nelly, E-40 and Droop-E.

If this really pushes like it should, all eyez are on the Bay again (thanks to Nelly). Don't fuck it up this time like at the B.A.R.S. Awards. And please to all Bay Area rappers, quit stating everybody owes you in your interviews. It just doesn't read / sound well. Don't look back and bitch over spilled milk. Ya got the whole cow now, take it and run! Display your talent, not what everybody else is doing (because everybody starts to sound the same), which causes people to look in another direction again.

Don't say too much and be hostile over what happened in the past, move forward with this and get yours.

Nobody what's to hear the story about where other rappers got their Game / lingo from...it's been told and gotten old. Plus everybody knows it already and don't care. Just give them what they want to hear...good music!

I think its fucked up when people feel that its strange for somebody not from here to show love. Maybe thats why we cant be on the level of other markets, we want to stay underground and not get noticed. See how many songs the nigga threw in that song! I'm starting to think the bay likes getting ignored. Even if he don't do a video for it, it should be youtube videos and all the shit behind this song. In the past few months thats 2 of the biggest rappers in the world showing love, rappers who stay on the pop charts. Nelly and Snoop. Them niggaz is behind the movement more than some of our own, who are only pushing themselves.
well said

on a side note, i seen this clip of him, murphy lee, and consequence rappin on the mic... now i don't know if nelly freestyle / wrote what he was spitting into the mic, but to my surprise, he tore that shit the fuck up... i had a newfound respect for him after that (assuming that he concocted that shit)... but too bad a majority of his music still isn't to my liking

::
seen that booth session to i was surprised as well...nelly did rip that mic. bay track is pretty clean too.

The song slaps. Its way better than the Ying Yang Twins' "go dumb." This is probably Nelly's way to show respect, like how David Banner did in "Westside."

I like the song.

But Nelly is a commerical rapper, and wanted/needed a reason to make a hyphy sounden track

I like how he gave props though, and it was creative enough to dig

why some of yall think nelly only doin it for "bay area money"? he couldnt have just did it because he likes old school bay music and really wanted to show love? but the slang word "hater" originated in the bay for a reason so...
