Not "ALL" people are members of these groups...I'm not (Although I don't know who the Bilderbergers are). Anyone over 18 can vote.....
I don't know why they are supporting both the Democrats and the Republicans. Maybe they have special interests in both sides. I'm not saying the government isn't corrupt...everyone knows that it is. I'm simply stating that Voting does matter. The problem is that the people who want to see the most change in our society don't vote.
And I'm not talking about just the Presidential election. There are hundreds of issues that are voted on all the time in your state and local communities. I've gone to city meetings to discuss these issues and you would be surprised by how many people are not there.
That's right let's all get over it. Shit happens. Nobody's going to changed the world. The whole world is currupt. Who gives a shit about slavery, let's not live in the past. We just have to deal with life our own way. Even if you feel like the white man is holding you down or anyone else for that matter, you can change that and make something happen. Yeah, you just tell me that from your living space that you described earlier (apartment, car, etc.). You don't even know where I live or who I associate with, and I am not here to brag about it. You think I am ignorant, please. I am right in the heart of it all. I am just expressing some views I have and playing a little devils advocate. And as for scholarships and shit, I'm not saying I deserve any because I could care less. I know there are a lot of smarter people than me out there. As for voting, I will never vote for the two main parties (Democrat or Republican). I voted for Nader. I don't care what he represents, but the only way change in the government will come is with someone besides Republican or Democrat.
As for the last election, Ralph Nader got 2-3 million votes, votes Al Gore could have had and won the election. Nader didn't win, but he took away lots of votes from both of those guys.

The reason white people don't like to hear the truth is because they want to forget that shit happend......slavery was not that long ago....but let's just say it was.....consider the fact that black people went to substandard, segregated schools 50 years ago and couldn't eat at the same counter and couldn't piss in the same urinal as whites....couldn't vote and once they were allowed to vote they had to pass a poll test in order to earn the right...the poll tests were erroneous questions with no correct answers so they lost their chance to vote then and there.....that's pretty recent. And people have a problem with minority scholarships WHY? Black people deserve to get a leg up.....
Think of it this way....you're in a race around a track...the whites are kickin your ass.....you notice, not only that you are obviously black, but that you are running with a 500 pound weight affixed to your leg....you're trying to catch up, but there is no way you can....the obstacle is too much to bear. They're running circles around you, laughing, poking fun, and enjoying your despair. They kick you while your down until you're too battered to race anymore. When the weight is finally removed, you get up and start running.....except your miles and miles behind the whites in the race. That's the reality. That's why affirmative action and scholarships are necessary....people deserve a shot in the race on equal footing. Footing is not equal considering the history of racism and racist laws. I look at the slavery issue like this. I understand that it is hard to get over, but a lot of white people like me do not want to be reminded of or blamed for what our ancestors did. That's all. I think that's why a lot of us say don't live in the past, because that shit is just too unbearable for a lot of us to deal with. At least for me it is.

I'm just saying that when you look at the big picture there is nothing we can really do to change any of this, including some of the things you mentioned. No I'm didn't say anything about sweeping anything under the rug. Why dwell over somthing that happend over 150 years ago. Come on. I'm making educated points based on the fact that I am actually educated....just because I'm not black or mexican does not mean I cannot empathize and relate to the struggle. I am middle eastern but I am a female first and foremost. I have my own struggle, but just because something does not directly affect me doesn't mean it doesn't exist. My dad is white. My mom is Armenian/Iranian. Some people consider me white, some don't. Some say i look black some say mexican some say Italian some have said Hawaiian (?). I was always questioned about my race as I grew up in a VERY white suburban community. We were poor and I was different. I was called a spic, spit on at school, and asked if my mom took me to tanning booths at 9 years old.
But really, it's neither here nor there....I feel that I can speak on the struggle because I witness the struggle....I have gotten out of my comfort zone to investigate and identify with what other people go through. I have done extensive study in the area of racism, history, the slave trade and it's aftermath, civil rights, etc. I have spoken with elders and peers, incited candid discussions, and over my 25 years of life I've come to see with clarity that there is something wrong with the dominant paradigm and the way white society has conducted and currently conducts itself.
White people are so caught up in defense and the fallacy that "we're all equal", when really, we're not. There is a disparity between the races....the east and the south are still EXTREMELY segregated by racial lines, for example. Laws are in place to ensure the inequality continues. Mass media dummies us down and lies to us.....feeds us subliminal messages about race and who is considered superior. I'm just not willing to blame whatever whiteness I may have in me as my excuse for ignorance on the issue of the racial divide. That's played. And it's just plain silly.
