he saying that xbox could still pull something off, im not sure whats coming out soon but if its in comparison to soul caliber and how they got spawn in promotion of the new game that was soon to be released then the same can still happen here.

i doubt it, if anything it will be a character already established from microsoft..banjo kazooie?

yes, mk series has lost its edge, and proply has seen its end but the following is still huge. it is its worst enemy though because people want blood, and with the pussies in charge of laws and shit its hard to bring that with out mass protests and complaints.

Could be the dude from Dead Rising.

And they've hinted that even though there's a set number of characters in the game, that's what's so great about downloadable content.

it wouldnt matter if xbox has an exclusive game coming out soon to promote the character...there wont be a new of god of war coming out anytime soon im sure...they added kratos to the line up because he is brutal and iconic to the playstation...spawn is not an xbox character created for/by microsoft...hell wasnt kratos even in a soul calibur game also? also yoda and darth vader? the soul calibur games are weak in comparison to how iconic mortal kombat has become....i mean the franchise has been going since 1992 and though most of the games as of recent have been terrible...they all explored different ideas..things that werent being done in other games...some ideas worked some fell...MK started falling off for me when they moved away from digitized actors...i think thats what half the draw was and what set it apart from street fighter 2 or tekken back then minus fatalities of course...this new "reboot" looks impressive but i still have doubts that it will or can live up to expectations...for me personally the game will never be the same because they dont use the digitized actors anymore...

but kratos still shits on any exclusive xbox character out now

your only real icon options are "gears of war", "halo", "perfect dark" and "alan wake"

who would you want representing solely the xbox 360 ( not a cross platformed character)

i would say master chief...cause he is a spartan too lol

Just hope they don't do like Dead or Alive and just add a nameless spartan instead of Master Chief himself. :hurt:
it would have to be master chief to make it iconic ( or exclusive ) how pissed would 360 fan boys be if they used a stand in and not the man himself

the funny part about all this is they have already made a quick CGI with kratos involved in the MK universe....yet the 360 doesnt even have a character picked out...pretty soon they'll say fuck it and leave it alone

If there's not a launch character for 360, they'll undoubtedly have one for download.

IDC if there is one, though. I like crossovers to an extent, but I will be too excited about the original characters and the return to 2D. I was let down when I stopped liking the MK's because they ventured away from awesomeness.

Retailer-Exclusive Fatalities?

Warner Bros. Interactive and developer NetherRealm Studios detailed the upcoming limited edition versions of their Mortal Kombat reboot this morning. The companies also unveiled a host of retailer-specific preorder incentives for the fighting game.

Beginning next April, Mortal Kombat will be available in three distinct flavors: the standard, no-frills release; a lovingly misspelled "Kollector's Edition," set to include Sub Zero and Scorpion figurines, exclusive downloadable costumes, and an art book; and, finally, the super-limited Tournament Edition, which will feature even more exclusive DLC, plus something Warner Bros. calls a "portable fight stick."

As if that decision alone wasn't heartwrenching enough, Warner also revealed unique preorder bonuses for Amazon, Best Buy, and Gamestop. Reserving a copy from Amazon will net you a "Klassic" Reptile costume (pictured to the right), as well as exclusive access to the green ninja's original Fatality. Similarly, Gamestop and Best Buy are offering "Klassic" versions of Scorpion and Sub Zero, respectively, bundled alongside the two characters' original finishing moves.

Assuming these preorder exclusives never become regular DLC, Mortal Kombat fans will have some tough choices to make next spring. What's your take?

it will all be available as DLC eventually

fuck a fight stick those shits are over rated ...the super limted tournament edition sounds fuckin weak in comparison to the kollectors edition...but if the tournament edition came with everything the kollector version has and more i may cop...but the fight stick shit...awful idea

One of the creators already alluded to DLC characters, so I wouldn't put much faith in the hype about it possibly never reaching the market as stand alone downloads.

All these extra editions and extensions sometimes make me wish we were still in the PS2 days of buying a game and getting just the game.
